Teixeira left Friday's game against the Orioles after appearing to injure his knee during his first at-bat of the contest. The Yankees replaced him with Rob Refsnyder for the rest of the game, but with Dustin Ackley recently sidelined for the rest of the year with a torn labrum, the Yankees will have to figure out a solution for a first baseman. The team recalled first baseman Chris Parmelee from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but could either give Refsnyder a shot at the job or place Austin Romine/Brian McCann at the base when they are not behind the plate.
