He was away from the team for the birth of his child Tuesday, but is back and in Wednesday's lineup. The Brewers have been mixing in Pina and Andrew Susac at catcher lately, but Martin Maldonado has still been seeing the bulk of the playing time behind the dish.

The two figure to continue sharing the catching duties for the Brewers in some capacity moving forward.

With Jonathan Lucroy headed to the Rangers, Pina will come up to the show and serve as Martin Maldonado's backup. Pina has been fantastic at Triple-A Colorado Springs this season and owns a .329/.371/.506 line. He's had very limited experience in the MLB and is 3-for-16 over five games in his career.

Pina had a nice spring as he batted .318 with four RBI and three runs over 22 at-bats. While the 28-year-old is a career .256 hitter in the minors, he's coming off a great season with Triple-A Toledo where he batted .305 with 39 RBI and 28 runs over 256 at-bats. The right handed catcher will likely spend 2016 with Triple-A Colorado Springs and try and build upon the strong numbers he produced last year.

Tigers acquired C Manuel Pina from the Mariners in exchange for cash considerations. Pina has hit .267/.337/.413 with two homers over 21 games between Double- and Triple-A for the Mariners. He'll give the Tigers some minor league catching depth.
