Machado has been diagnosed with a right knee ligament sprain, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports. This is excellent news considering how gruesome the injury appeared in real time, as Machado's right knee completely buckled on a swing. The O's gave an abbreviated update Tuesday, not offering a timetable regarding Machado's potential return, but it seems like there's a chance he could return this season. A more detailed update will be provided by the team Wednesday. Meanwhile Ryan Flaherty, Jonathan Schoop and Chris Davis could all see time at third base.

Machado (knee) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday morning, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports. Machado left Monday's game after his knee buckled on him while in the batter's box, and was later given an initial diagnosis of a sprained right knee. This was just a preliminary classification, however, as the Tuesday MRI should provide better insight as to the nature and severity of the injury. X-rays that were taken Monday night failed to reveal any ligament damage, but an MRI will still be needed to confirm that presumption. Although the injury looked a bit gruesome, the Orioles remain optimistic, and think they may have "dodged a bullet."

Machado is dealing with a right knee sprain, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports. Machado's presumed sprain is just a preliminary diagnosis, as more information should be made available after the team is able to analyze the results of his Monday MRI. Consider him day-to-day until further notice, but this type of injury has the potential to force a longer absence.

Machado left Monday's game after his right knee gave out on him during a swing, MLB.com's Britt Ghiroli reports. He was in serious pain, and needed assistance to walk off the field. Machado had reconstructive surgery on his left knee at the end of last season, so the one bit of good news is that it's not the same knee. However, the replays of the injury Monday were difficult to watch, and it seems quite possible that the injury is season-ending. Continue to monitor his status for official word from the team, but there isn't much reason for optimism here. Ryan Flaherty and Jonathan Schoop could both be options to replace Machado at third base while he's out.

Manny Machado sent the Orioles home winners, belting a walk-off solo home run to left field in the 12th inning on Tuesday against the Angels. Machado went into the at-bat 1-for-5 with an RBI double, and wasted no time ending the ballgame as he was the first batter reliever Cory Rasmus faced in the 12th. The third baseman has a respectable .268/.314/.430 slash line with 11 home runs and 27 RBI this season.

Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's win over the Mariners. Machado had an RBI single in the eighth inning to give the O's the lead and drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning. He's now got 25 RBI in 68 games to go with a .267/.314/.417 line. Machado has played two straight games since being sidelined due to lower back pain, and owners should start him with confidence in the days ahead.

Manny Machado (back) remained out of the Orioles' lineup Thursday. It's the third straight contest he's missed with tightness in his lower back. Machado received an anti-inflammatory injection on Tuesday, so hopefully the shot just needed a couple days to take effect. The third baseman remains day-to-day for the time being.
