Smith is in the lineup and leading off for Friday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old is 1-for-14 to start his career after being called up to replace Ender Inciarte who was placed on the 15-day DL. He doesn't appear ready for big league pitching quite yet, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him sent back to Triple-A once Inciarte is healthy again.

Smith (laceration) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, batting leadoff and playing center field.
EDGE Analysis
The young outfielder had his major league debut cut short Monday when he suffered a cut above his eye while trying to steal second base. He left the game and needed five stitches, but the cut won't keep him off the field Tuesday. Smith brings serious base stealing upside to the Braves and Monday's game proved that manager Fredi Gonzalez is not shy about turning him loose on the basepaths.

Smith (face) intends to play Tuesday against the Nationals, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith suffered a laceration over his left eye Monday while sliding into second base, resulting in five stitches. He's officially listed as day-to-day by the team, so it's not a forgone conclusion he'll actually play Tuesday. If the outfielder is held back by trainers, Drew Stubbs is the favorite to get an unexpected start.

Smith is considered day-to-day after exiting Monday's game with a laceration over his left eye.
EDGE Analysis
Smith's major league debut was cut short when he was suffered a cut on his forehead while sliding into second base in the fourth inning, and this report confirms that he is not dealing with any sort of serious setback. Smith, who went 1-for-3 and scored a run before leaving Monday's game, will have a chance to get back on the field as soon as Tuesday, though that will ultimately be determined when the Braves release their starting lineup.

Smith will lead off for the Braves against Max Scherzer and the Nationals in his MLB debut Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The left-handed hitting Smith appears to be in an immediate platoon with Drew Stubbs, but he'll face a tough test in Scherzer on Monday night. Smith has significant stolen-base upside if he can carve out a significant share of the playing time in center field while Ender Inciarte is on the disabled list.

Smith was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves need help in center field with Ender Inciarte (hamstring) on the 15-day DL. Smith can offer significant contributions in the stolen-base department if he secures semi-regular playing time, and it would hardly be surprising to see some form of a platoon between Smith and Drew Stubbs.

Smith has been pulled from the Braves' Triple-A lineup against Norfolk on Sunday, suggesting that he'll get the call later in the day, Bill Shanks from the Macon Telegraph reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has huge stolen base potential, but it remains to be seen where manager Freddy Gonzalez will slot him in the lineup. If he bats eighth, his stolen base potential could be tamped down.

The Braves will discuss promoting Smith if Ender Inciarte (hamstring) requires a DL stint, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Inciarte injured his hamstring Friday night, leaving Drew Stubbs as the only healthy, viable center-field option on the roster. The team remains hopeful that Inciarte will avoid the DL, but if he's unable to return in the next couple days, Atlanta may not have much of a choice but to make a move. Smith is on the 40-man roster, and could potentially fill the void both in center field and atop the order. His bat is a question mark, but Smith has walked at a good clip in the minors, and his exceptional speed could make him immediately relevant in a lot of leagues.

Smith has been promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. The 22-year-old breezed through the Southern League, posting a .340/.418/.413 batting line with 23 stolen bases in 29 attempts and a 27:41 BB:K in 241 plate appearances with Double-A Mississippi. He's been deemed ready to advance to the next rung on the organizational ladder, and the expectation is that he will serve as the primary center fielder for Gwinnett with top prospect Jose Peraza expected to play mostly at second base moving forward.
