Gore may remain on bereavement list through his next scheduled start Tuesday against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
No official decision has been made yet regarding Gore's status for Tuesday, but Patrick Corbin would be in line to start in Gore's place if need be. Gore was placed on the bereavement list Thursday, and he will be required to return Thursday at the very latest.

The Nationals placed Gore on the bereavement list Thursday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gore will be required to miss at least three games and no more than seven as he tends to more important matters. Joe La Sorsa was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Gore (7-10) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over five innings in a 5-4 victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The young southpaw got tagged for a solo homer by Davis Schneider but otherwise held Toronto's offense in check, tossing 69 of his 106 pitches for strikes. Homers continue to be an issue for Gore, who's served up 10 of them in eight starts and 42.2 innings since the All-Star break, but he still sports a respectable 4.01 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 39:16 K:BB over that stretch. He's next set to take the mound at home early next week against the Mets.

Gore (6-10) took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing six runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gore left his previous start early due to a cut fingernail and blister, but that didn't appear to be a problem for him Wednesday. Instead, Aaron Judge was the root of the hurler's struggles, as the slugger tagged him for a solo homer in the first inning and a grand slam in the second. The four runs that scored on the latter long ball were all unearned due to a two-out Washington error, keeping Gore's ERA from taking too big of a hit. Still, Gore hasn't picked up a victory in any of his past five starts and has posted a mediocre 4.38 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 127.1 innings on the campaign.

Gore (finger) is listed as the Nationals' probable starter for Wednesday's road game against the Yankees, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gore's inclusion on Washington's pitching schedule for the three-game set at Yankee Stadium is an indication that the cut nail and blister on his left index finger presented no issues for him during his throwing session over the weekend. He'll be returning to the mound Wednesday on six days' rest after the finger issue cropped up during his most recent outing against the Red Sox on Aug. 16, when he struck out seven and allowed just one hit and two walks over 6.1 scoreless innings prior to departing.

Gore will have his workload managed for the remainder of the season as the Nationals deploy a six-man rotation, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old southpaw has already thrown a career-high 117 innings this season, 30 more than he tossed across all levels in 2022. "I was hurt last year, I didn't throw many innings. So that's a real thing that we're going to have to deal with," Gore said Wednesday after his start against the Phillies. Shifting to a six-man rotation will cost the Nats' regular starters a turn or two over the remainder of the season, and if younger arms like Gore or Jake Irvin show serious signs of fatigue in August, the team could re-evaluate the situation when rosters expand in September. After wrapping up May with a 3.57 ERA, Gore has regressed to a 5.64 ERA over his last 59 innings, albeit with a strong 60:22 K:BB.

Gore (6-9) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings in a 7-0 loss against the Phillies. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gore surrendered runs in each of the first four innings, including three in the opening frame, as the Nationals were no-hit by Michael Lorenzen on the other end in the 7-0 defeat. The 24-year-old Gore had pitched well in his previous three outings, working to a 2.81 ERA over 16 innings. His ERA is now up to 4.62 with a 1.43 WHIP and 134:50 K:BB across 23 starts (117 innings) this season. Gore's currently lined up for a home matchup next week with the Red Sox in his next outing.

Gore did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over six innings against the Brewers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Gore left a four-seamer over the middle of the plate in the top of the second, which Tyrone Taylor launched into the stands to give the Brewers their first run of the game. However, the lefty settled in after that mistake, going 1-2-3 over the next two frames before allowing just one more run on a Christian Yelich double in the sixth. It marked Gore's first quality start since June 3, and he's now allowed three or fewer runs in three consecutive outings. On the downside, he's also issued at least two walks in four straight and in eight of his last nine.

Gore (6-8) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks over five innings as the Nationals were downed 5-1 by the Mets. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The southpaw put runners on base in every inning, but he kept New York off the board until the fifth, when two straight walks to open the frame set the stage for a three-run blast by Pete Alonso. Gore exited the game having thrown only 57 of 95 pitches for strikes, and he's issued multiple free passes in seven of his last eight outings, posting a 5.11 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 41:18 K:BB through 37 innings over that stretch. He'll look for a better result in his next start, likely to come at home next week against the Brewers.

Gore (6-7) earned the win Sunday, allowing four hits and two walks over five scoreless innings against the Giants. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Gore was sharp Sunday, scattering four hits en route to his third win in his last five starts. The 24-year-old southpaw has tallied eight or more strikeouts six times this season. Gore lowered his ERA to 4.37 with a 1.44 WHIP and 122:43 K:BB through 20 starts (101 innings) this year. He's currently lined up to face the Mets on the road in his next outing.
