Gore (5-14) took the loss against the Marlins on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gore was cleared to return from the 15-day injured list Thursday after recovering from left shoulder inflammation. He got off to a rocky start by yielding two runs in the first inning, but the 26-year-old southpaw kept the Marlins off the board over the next four frames and finished with 11 whiffs on 78 pitches (50 strikes). Gore has given up three earned runs or less in each of his last five starts, and while 177 strikeouts (across 152.1 innings) is 10th best in the National League, his 14 losses is tied with Zac Gallen and Mitch Keller for fourth worst in the NL. Gore is slated to face Atlanta at home next week.

The Nationals activated Gore (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Gore will rejoin the Nationals' rotation Thursday against the Marlins after missing the last two weeks of action with left shoulder inflammation. The southpaw did not make a rehab start, and it doesn't appear he faced live hitters while on the IL, either, settling for just a couple bullpen sessions. That means Gore could have a relatively abbreviated workload versus the Marlins.

Gore (shoulder) is scheduled to be activated off the 15-day injured list to pitch Thursday against the Marlins, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander landed on the shelf in late August due to shoulder inflammation and will rejoin the Nationals after spending the 15-day minumum on the injured list. In his last two starts before heading to the IL, Gore allowed six earned runs with eight strikeouts and six walks across 9.1 innings.

Gore (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Saturday and will throw off the mound again Tuesday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gore has progressed well since landing on the 15-day injured list Aug. 30 due to left shoulder inflammation. It's unclear whether the Nationals will ask the left-hander to make a rehab start prior to being activated, but Gore is tracking toward rejoining the big-league rotation at some point later this month.

Gore (shoulder) played catch Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gore just landed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left shoulder inflammation, so it's a good sign that he's already been cleared to throw. The left-hander is hoping to return Sept. 12 when his 15 days are up, but it's too soon to know whether he'll achieve that goal.

Gore (shoulder) intends to pitch again this season, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The left-hander landed on the injured list Saturday with what the Nationals described as shoulder inflammation, but the issue doesn't appear to be serious. "It's something, the way it felt last start, where we needed to get an MRI," Gore said Saturday. "Nothing crazy showed up with significant injury. I didn't want to go on the IL, but we kind of needed to. I plan on being back as soon as I can, but we just need to clean up a few things in there and should be alright." With Washington having nothing to play for this season however, it wouldn't be a big surprise if Gore was shut down out of caution should he have any sort of hiccup once he begins throwing again. Over 27 starts and 147.1 innings this year, the 26-year-old has a 4.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 173:55 K:BB.

The Nationals placed Gore on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left shoulder inflammation, retroactive to Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gore owns a 5.92 ERA and 1.56 ERA across 24.1 innings (five starts) since the beginning of August, and it appears he came away from his most recent outing Tuesday with a shoulder issue. The Nationals haven't provided any information regarding the severity of the left-hander's injury, but for now, there's still a chance he returns in time to make a few more starts before the regular season concludes. Mason Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Gore (5-13) allowed three runs on three hits and two walks over five innings Tuesday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage against Gore came in the third inning when Giancarlo Stanton cleared the bases with a three-run double. Outside of that frame, only one other Yankee reached scoring position against Gore. He took his first loss since Aug. 5, and he's now 1-5 over his last eight appearances. During that span, he's produced a 7.54 ERA over 37 innings, driving his season ERA up to 4.15. Gore has walked multiple batters in three straight starts and now owns a 173:55 K:BB across 147.1 frames. He's in line for a home matchup with the Marlins next week.

Gore didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Mets, allowing three runs on six hits and four walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
It was just the third time all season that Gore was unable to make it through five innings, and each of those instances have come following the All-Star break. The All-Star left-hander is showing signs of fatigue since the second half began, submitting a 7.88 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 32:18 K:BB over his last seven outings (32 innings). Things are unlikely to get much easier for Gore in next week's scheduled appearance against the Yankees, who have a robust .990 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the beginning of August.

Gore did not factor into the decision in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Phillies, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Gore overcame a 37-pitch first inning to notch his second straight quality start, throwing 57 of 91 pitches for strikes while generating 12 whiffs. The southpaw has been inconsistent since the All-Star break, allowing two earned runs or fewer in three of six outings but getting tagged for 22 runs in the other three. He'll carry a 4.04 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 165:49 K:BB across 138 innings into a home matchup with the Mets next week.
