Valbuena is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With Detroit turning to lefty Daniel Norris on the hill, the Angels will plug the right-handed Jefry Marte in at first base. Valbuena figures to get back into the lineup Sunday against Justin Verlander and should continue to see regular playing time against righties.

Valbuena started at first and batted cleanup Friday, going 3-for-5 with his second home run of the season in a win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
The slugging first baseman has been showcasing some of the power that the Angels paid for this offseason, smacking two long balls over his last four starts. Valbuena routinely sits against opposing southpaws, but he definitely has enough pop in his bat to warrant a roster spot for power-starved fantasy squads.

Valbuena is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
With Mike Trout (hamstring) serving as the designated hitter Thursday, Albert Pujols will draw the start at first base for just the second time this season, leaving Valbuena as the odd man out. The 31-year-old is slashing .240/.345/.360 with one homer and three RBI through his first eight games since returning from the disabled list.

Valbuena went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena's first home run of the year came in the first inning off Kendall Graveman, and it was the only offense the Angels would muster for the rest of the game. The 31-year-old lefty now has six hits in his first 19 at-bats and should see the strong side of a platoon at first base with Jefry Marte until C.J. Cron (foot, wrist) returns from the disabled list.

Valbuena is not in the lineup Thursday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Valbuena will head to the bench with the Mariners sending out southpaw Ariel Miranda. Jefry Marte will get the start at first base in his stead. The 31-year-old is 1-for-6 with a walk and a run scored in two games since returning from the disabled list. He could be out of the lineup again Friday with lefty Dallas Keuchel set to pitch for the Astros, though he should be back when they face off against righty Lance McCullers.

Valbuena is batting fifth and playing first base Wednesday against the Mariners, Bob Dutton of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena did not start Tuesday, his first game back after a hamstring injury kept him out for the first month of the season. He did, however, come off the bench to the tune of a 2-for-3 and a walk. Jefry Marte takes a seat after starting Tuesday's game.

Valbuena is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Valbuena is back on the active roster after missing the first month of the season with a hamstring injury, he will not slot into the lineup right away. Instead, Jefry Marte will get the start at first base Tuesday with a lefty in James Paxton toeing the rubber for the opposition. Valbuena should start against all right-handers moving forward.

Valbuena (hamstring) was activated from the disabled list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Jose Valdez was sent down in a corresponding move. Valbuena has completed his rehab from a hamstring strain but he may not immediately return to the lineup, as the Mariners are trotting out lefty James Paxton on Tuesday. The expectation is that Valbuena will platoon with Jefry Marte (until C.J. Cron returns), with Valbuena starting at first base against right-handed pitching.

Valbuena (hamstring) could be activated from the disabled list as soon as Tuesday, Maria Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Angels are close to having their infield back to full strength with Valbuena's return looming. The team hopes to have him back Tuesday for the start of their series in Seattle. Valbuena will add a left-handed bat to the lineup with the versatility to play either corner infield spot, but he'll likely serve as the Angels' primary first baseman against right-handed pitchers.

Valbuena (hamstring) will open up a rehab assignment Monday with High-A Inland Empire, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Valbuena, who has been out since late March with the strained right hamstring, is expected to require five-to-seven games in the minors before the Angels feel comfortable activating him from the disabled list. Once he rejoins the big club, Valbuena will likely occupy the larger half of a platoon at first base with C.J. Cron.
