Manager Aaron Boone said Monday that "all options are on the table" when asked if the Yankees are committed to giving Severino his next start in the rotation, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Severino was going to get the ball this weekend against the Astros, it would have been easy for Boone to confirm that when asked directly, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Severino shift to a relief role, especially if the Yankees can trade for a replacement. Either way, given that Severino has allowed 27 earned runs in 21.2 innings over his last five starts, it would be pretty risky to deploy him this week in fantasy.

Severino (2-5) allowed nine runs on 10 hits and two walks over 3.1 innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Baltimore jumped all over Severino on Sunday Night Baseball, plating seven runs in the first inning and two more in the fourth. It's the fourth time in just 12 starts this season that he's given up at least seven runs. Three of those ugly outings came during July, resulting in an outrageous 10.38 ERA for the month. Severino's season mark has jumped to 7.49 through 57.2 frames. His next start is currently projected to be at home against the Astros.

Severino (2-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings against the Royals. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Severino's looked better since the All-Star break, allowing four runs over 11.2 innings in his last two starts after surrendering 14 earned runs in his previous two outings. Overall, it's been a shaky campaign for Severino since returning to the Yankees rotation in late May. His ERA now sits at 6.46 with a 1.73 WHIP and 45:22 K:BB through 11 starts (54.1 innings). The 29-year-old right-hander is currently lined up to face the Orioles on the road in his next outing.

Severino allowed a run on six hits and three walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Severino was solid despite putting too many runners on base early on, and the only run he gave up with a Matt Thaiss solo shot in the sixth inning. Prior to the All-Star break, Severino was torched for 16 runs (14 earned) over 6.2 innings across his first two starts in July. The right-hander has struggled to a 6.66 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 40:22 K:BB through 48.2 innings over 10 starts this season after beginning the year on the injured list with a lat strain. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the Royals this weekend, though Severino's place in the rotation could be tenuous if the Yankees opt to upgrade their pitching before the trade deadline.

Severino (1-4) took the loss Thursday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and one walk over 2.2 innings against the Orioles. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday's outing was one to forget for Severino, who failed to get out of the third inning for the first time all year and tied his season high in earned runs. After surrendering a leadoff homer to Gunnar Henderson in the first, Severino held the Orioles scoreless until a disastrous third inning where he allowed three doubles before being pulled. Severino has now posted back-to-back nightmare starts in which he's allowed 16 runs over 6.2 innings. Through nine starts (42.2 innings) this season, Severino owns career worsts in ERA (7.38), HR/9 (2.3) and K/9 (7.8).

Severino (1-3) took the loss Saturday, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits and three walks over four innings against St. Louis. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Severino ran into trouble in the bottom of the third, allowing back-to-back singles to open the frame before surrendering a three-run homer to Paul Goldschmidt. But the right-hander's troubles didn't end there as the Cardinals went on to add another two runs in the inning and two more in the fourth. The seven earned runs allowed tied his season high and Severino has now lost three of his last four decisions. He's also walked at least three batters while giving up at least seven hits in three of his last four starts.

Severino's scheduled start against the Cardinals on Friday has been postponed due to inclement weather, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
EDGE Analysis
Because of the rain in St. Louis, the Yankees and Cardinals will play a doubleheader Saturday with the first game starting at 11:15 CST. Severino and Matthew Liberatore -- the two scheduled starters for Friday's contest -- will likely pitch in one of the two games of the twin bill instead.

Severino (1-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks over six scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over the Rangers. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Things looked like they might unravel quickly for the right-hander, as he walked two batters with two outs in the first inning, but Jake Bauers threw out Nathaniel Lowe at the plate to end the frame after a Josh Jung single, and Severino didn't let another runner get past second base. It was an encouraging outing for the 29-year-old after he'd coughed up 19 earned runs in 18.2 innings over his prior four starts, but he still has a big hole to climb out of where his ratios are concerned. Severino will look to build a winning streak in his next start, likely to come next weekend in St. Louis.

Severino (0-2) yielded four runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Severino allowed one run through three innings before the Red Sox brought home three runs in the next two frames. After a solid start to his 2023 campaign, the 29-year-old has coughed up 19 earned runs over his last 18.2 innings, driving his season ERA up to 6.30 through six starts. On the bright side, Sunday's outing was the first time he didn't allow a home run since his season debut May 21. Severino's next outing is projected to be at home against the Rangers.

Severino did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over 4.2 innings in a 7-6 victory over the Mets. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Severino needed 104 pitches to get through 4.2 innings after allowing four runs over his first two frames. The 29-year-old right-hander has struggled mightily of late, allowing 17 runs through 13.2 innings in his last three starts. Severino is 0-1 with a 6.48 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB through his first five starts (25 innings) this season. He'll look to get on track in his next start, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Red Sox.
