The Giants optioned Matos to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Matos has gone 2-for-10 with a home run and two runs scored across four games since rejoining the Giants on Sept. 3. Rather than keeping six outfielders on their big-league roster, San Francisco will now send him back to Triple-A in favor of infielder Donovan Walton, who was recalled from Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Matos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Matos was the latter part of back-to-back home runs against Joe Musgrove in the fifth and picked up his first hit in 10 plate appearances since being called back up Sept. 3. He's struck out multiple times in all three appearances he's made since his return to the majors and won't have a shot at a bigger role unless injuries in front of him arise. For the year, Matos is slashing .211/.235/.340 with five homers, 25 RBI, 13 runs and a 5:24 BB:K in 153 plate appearances.

The Giants recalled Matos from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old was optioned to Sacramento in late July but is back with the Giants for the final month of the season. Matos has played in 40 games across his two previous stints in the majors this season and has a .217/.238/.333 slash line with four homers in 143 plate appearances. The right-handed bat of Matos could work as a short-side platoon partner of Grant McCray in center field.

The Giants optioned Matos to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Matos will end up as the odd man out of the Giants' outfield room after the team claimed Derek Hill off waivers from Texas on Tuesday. Matos slashed .208/.222/.340 with four RBI in 54 plate appearances since his promotion from Triple-A on June 22, and he would be a likely candidate to return to San Francisco should the team's outfield depth be tested later in the season.

Matos is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Matos has now taken a seat for four straight matchups with right-handed starting pitchers. He appears to have moved back into a strict short-side platoon role in the Giants outfield following Mike Yastrzemski's return from the injured list Tuesday.

Matos (undisclosed) is starting in right field and batting fifth in Saturday's game against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Matos was scratched from Friday's lineup due to the return of Mike Yastrzemski (elbow), but the former will miss just one game. Since being recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on June 22, Matos has gone 10-for-39 with two home runs and four RBI in 13 games. He'll face off against Cleveland southpaw Logan Allen on Saturday.

Matos is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Matos was initially listed as the Giants' starting right fielder but will be replaced by Mike Yastrzemski (elbow) in a revised version of the lineup. It's unclear if Matos is dealing with an injury, or if he was just the odd man out with Yastrzemski being cleared to play.

Matos went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Matos has been back on the Giants' roster for a week, going 8-for-20 (.400) with two homers and three RBI in that span. He started hot after a call-up in mid-May as well before tailing off at the end of the month, so it'll be important to see him sustain his good hitting. Through 110 plate appearances, the outfielder is slashing .257/.282/.400 with four homers, 23 RBI, 11 runs scored and no stolen bases.

Matos will start in right field and bat sixth Thursday against the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Matos is being included in the lineup for the fifth time in six games, and he looks like he'll hang on to a regular role in the corner outfield while Mike Yastrzemski (oblique) is on the injured list. Since getting called up from Triple-A Sacramento last weekend, Matos has gone 6-for-14 with a solo home run.

Matos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's victory over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Matos jumped on a hanging knuckle-curve from Drew Smyly in the fifth and sent it into the stands in left-center field for his third home run of the campaign and first since May 18 against Colorado. It marked the outfielder's second consecutive two-hit performance and first RBI this month. He's also hit safely in three straight contests and is now batting .320 (8-for-25) in June.
