Castillo (9-12) earned the win against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out nine and walked only one.
EDGE Analysis
The only blemish for Castillo was Joc Pederson's solo home run during the sixth inning, as the right hander has allowed only three earned runs in his three starts this month. The 25-year-old has a 4.66 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 158 strikeouts over 154.2 innings, and is next set to take the mound Monday at Milwaukee.

Castillo (8-11) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out 11 across 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo flashed his tantalizing potential again on Saturday, dominating the Cardinals by recording 18 of his 20 outs via either strikeout or groundball. He was plenty deceptive -- he generated 20 swinging strikes on 104 total pitches -- and set a new career-high with the 11-strikeout performance. Castillo has been much improved since the All-Star break, turning in a 3.15 ERA to go along with 46 strikeouts in 40 innings despite two starts in which he allowed five earned runs.

Castillo (7-11) took the loss Saturday, surrendering five runs on five hits and a walk over 3.1 innings while striking out two as the Reds fell 10-6 to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Wrigley Field played very small in this one, as Daniel Murphy and Kyle Schwarber each tagged Castillo for a two-run homer before his quick exit. That's unfortunately nothing new for the right-hander, who's now coughed up 24 home runs in 26 starts (1.6 HR/9). He'll take a 5.07 ERA with him to the mound next Saturday in St. Louis.

Castillo (7-10) earned the win Sunday against the Giants, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits in 6.2 innings. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
It was a nice bounce-back effort from Castillo, who was tagged for five runs his last time out. The 25-year-old was sharp throughout this one, tossing 76 of his 98 pitches for strikes en route to picking up his first quality start in three appearances this month. After struggling through the first half of the season, Castillo has posted a solid 2.10 ERA through five second half starts (30 innings). He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which will come on the road against the Cubs.

Castillo (6-9) surrendered two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three across 5.1 innings as he was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo gave up a run in the second and third innings before leaving the game with a one-run deficit. He managed to throw 61 of his 88 pitches for strikes (69 percent). Castillo has shown major improvement of late, allowing two or fewer runs in each of his previous four outings. He's improved his ERA from 5.58 to 4.91 over that span.

Castillo (6-8) was superb Sunday against the Phillies, throwing seven shutout innings against the Phillies. He struck out nine batters while allowing four hits and a walk.
EDGE Analysis
The seven innings was the deepest Castillo has worked into a game this season. "It was really nice that he went as deep as he did," interim manager Jim Riggleman said. "We would have been able to cover it if he didn't. I think more importantly, he sees he can do that. He can go through a tough lineup and get deep in a ballgame. He certainly didn't have to come out of the game there. He could have continued but we would have been stretching it a bit. It was very encouraging for him to go over 100 pitches and seven innings against that club."

Castillo allowed one run on four hits and one walk across 5.1 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Cardinals. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo was quite sharp in his first start of the second half, allowing just one extra-base hit as he kept an in-form Cards lineup down. He ran into a bit of trouble in the sixth inning, allowing a run on a pair of hits to start the frame before his seemingly premature removal at just 85 pitches. While he didn't have an opportunity to record a victory, this solid effort continues a recent trend for Castillo, who's posted a shiny 3.00 ERA over 21 innings in his last four starts. He'll look to keep it up this weekend against the Phillies.

Castillo allowed three runs on six hits and two walks across four innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Cubs. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo got into a bit of trouble in the second inning, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk to start the frame. He was spotted a one-run lead going into the fourth, but he gave that right back as the hosts scored on a pair of hits to tie the game. Castillo worked up to 83 pitches to escape the jam and wasn't brought back out as the game moved into the fifth. It was a disappointing outing for Castillo, who delivered one of his strongest starts of the season last time out, and he'll look to get back on track next weekend against the Cardinals.

Castillo (5-8) tossed 6.2 one-run innings to earn the win Monday against the White Sox, allowing six hits with no walks and six strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo limited baserunners to great effect and wasn't even scored upon until the bullpen allowed an inherited runner to score with two outs in the seventh inning. He threw an impressive 73 percent of his pitches for strikes, including a whopping 21 swinging strikes, and induced nine groundball outs in what was one of his finest outings of the season. Castillo still has a 5.53 ERA after allowing three earned runs of more in each of his previous six starts, but he continues to flash his potential from time to time. He'll look to build on this effort Sunday against the Cubs.

Castillo didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Braves, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over four-plus innings while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
After setting down 11 straight batters to begin the game, Castillo fell apart with two outs in the fourth inning, then allowed the first two hitters he faced in the fifth to reach base before getting the hook. Despite his clear upside the right-hander's inconsistency, both from start to start and within an outing, makes him a very difficult player to rely on in a fantasy lineup, and Castillo will carry a 5.85 ERA into his next start Monday at home against the White Sox.
