Castillo allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and four walks across 5.1 innings during a no-decision against the Pirates in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
While he did allow 10 baserunners, Castillo fell victim to some poor defense in the sixth. The Reds had just taken their first lead in the bottom of the fifth when Cincinnati's infield committed two costly mistakes (one of which was recorded an error). Castillo could have been out of the inning, but instead, the Reds turned to their bullpen, which blew the lead and Castillo's chance at the win. With a 5-1 record, though, Castillo is experiencing a great season. He also has a 2.45 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, .187 batting average against and 82 strikeouts in 69.2 innings. He is scheduled to pitch next against the Nationals on Sunday.

Castillo allowed four runs on five hits with two strikeouts and three walks across 2.2 innings during a no-decision against the Brewers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old couldn't take advantage of the Reds offense scoring six runs through three frames. Castillo needed 75 pitches to record eight outs and failed to reach the end of the third inning for the first time this season. Still, owners have to be very pleased with Castillo's first 11 starts. He is 5-1 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 64.1 innings. Castillo also possesses a 0.7 HR/9 and .176 batting average against. He will look to bounce back in his next start against the Pirates on Monday.

Castillo (5-1) picked up the win against the Cubs on Thursday, giving up two earned runs on two hits over 5.1 innings, striking out six and walking one as the Reds won 4-2.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo continues to dominate, as he picked up his fifth win in six decisions to start the season while providing yet another solid stat line. The right-hander is putting up Cy Young-caliber numbers at the outset of 2019, as he now boasts a fantastic 1.90 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP and a 76:25 K:BB through 61.2 innings.

Castillo threw six scoreless innings against the Giants on Friday night to get his fourth win of the season. He struck out 11 while allowing two hits and five walks. He generated 15 swings and misses on his changeup, accounting for nine of his strikeouts, and threw his changeup 40 times in the effort, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's those five walks that drove Castillo's pitch count over 100 after six innings, leading to the early exit. He was facing a Giants team that scored four against him in his previous outing, his worst so far this season, albeit without Buster Posey, who is now on the injured list. He next faces a red-hot Cubs lineup back in Great American Ballpark, a challenge that will really test his newfound ace level.

Castillo yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over seven innings Sunday, taking the no-decision during a loss to the Giants. He struck out nine batters.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo had allowed just one baserunner via a fourth-inning walk through five frames. He then was drilled for four runs in the sixth, including a three-run shot from Buster Posey. It was the worst outing of the year for Castillo, who still owns a terrific 1.96 ERA and 59:19 K:BB. The 6-foot-2 righty will aim for revenge against San Francisco on Friday.

Castillo allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over 6.2 innings during Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Mets. He struck out seven but did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo was unable to finish the seventh inning, but nonetheless delivered yet another strong outing Tuesday. The 26-year-old has yet to allowed more than two runs in a start and has a 1.45 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 50:17 K:BB through 43.1 innings. Castillo lines up to start next Sunday versus the Giants.

Castillo (3-1) allowed eight hits and no walks while striking out two across six scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Castillo didn't rack up strikeouts but managed to scatter eight hits -- only one of which went for extra-bases -- to turn in his second scoreless effort of the season. It's also notable that he did not issue a free pass as he has allowed three or more walks in three starts this season. That has yet to come back to haunt him, as he now has a 1.23 ERA and 0.95 WHIP across 36.2 innings for the campaign.

Castillo was scheduled to throw again Friday against the Cardinals, but the Reds have decided to bump Castillo up a day. Anthony DeSclafani will toe the rubber for Cincinnati on Friday.

Castillo (2-1) struck out nine and allowed one run on four hits and one walk in six innings in a victory over the Padres on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old continues to dazzle early this season. He hasn't allowed more than two runs in any start and owns a 1.47 ERA this year. Opponents are hitting just .129 against him, which has helped Castillo also post a 0.88 WHIP. If owners have any complaints about him, it's that he's walked 14 in 30.2 innings, but he's also struck out 41. His next scheduled start is Friday in St. Louis.

Castillo didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Dodgers, giving up two runs on four hits and five walks over five innings while striking out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander appeared to be cruising heading into the fifth inning, but Castillo's control deserted him and he walked in the tying run to make it 2-2 before escaping the jam. He'll take a 1.46 ERA and 32:13 K:BB through 24.2 innings into his next start Saturday in San Diego.
