The Angels waived Giolito on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito was one of five players that the Angels waived Tuesday in an effort dump some salary. The 29-year-old righty was traded from the White Sox to Los Angeles shortly before the trade deadline and put up a 6.89 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 32.2 innings with the Angels. Despite his poor performance as of late, Giolito will likely be claimed by another team looking for rotation depth down the stretch.

Giolito (7-11) took the loss Monday, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks over 5.2 innings in a 6-4 loss against the Phillies. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
All of Giolito's earned runs came via the long ball, as the Phillies took him deep three times Monday. In six starts since becoming an Angel on July 26, the big right-hander has gone 1-5 with a 6.89 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 34:15 K:BB across 32.2 innings. His next start is tentatively scheduled to come in Oakland over the weekend.

Giolito (7-10) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over six innings against Cincinnati. He struck out nine.
EDGE Analysis
The only run charged against Giolito came on the second batter of the game, as Matt McLain launched a solo homer. Giolito then kept the Reds off the board until the fifth where a two-out error by Nolan Schanuel brought a pair of runners in to score and allowed Elly De La Cruz to reach and eventually cross home plate himself. Though Tuesday's outing was Giolito's best in an Angels uniform, he ended up taking another loss, his fourth since joining the team. Overall, Giolito owns a 4.32 ERA and a 159:53 K:BB across 26 starts (148 innings), and he's tentatively scheduled to take on the Phillies next time out.

Giolito and the Angels won't play the Reds on Monday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Anaheim, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Hurricane Hilary bringing heavy rainfall to Southern California, the Reds and Angels will wait until Tuesday to begin their three-game series. Monday's postponement will be made up as part of a doubleheader Wednesday. Expect the Angels to move Giolito back one day in the pitching schedule to take the hill Tuesday.

Giolito (7-9) took the loss Tuesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings in a 7-3 loss against the Rangers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito surrendered four extra-base hits on the day, including a two-run home run to Corey Seager in the third inning as he fell to his ninth loss of the season and his third in his last four starts. Giolito's endured a rough start to his tenure in Los Angeles, owning an ugly 8.14 ERA and 1.57 WHIP along with a 19:2 K:BB and 2.6 HR/9 through 21 innings. Though he's faced some of baseball's top offenses in Atlanta, Toronto and Texas since joining the Angels, Giolito's tentatively scheduled for another tough start against the Reds next week.

Giolito (7-8) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks over six innings against San Francisco. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito claimed his first quality start since July 9 (four appearances) and managed to bounce back from an awful start to his tenure in Los Angeles. In his first two outings with the Halos, Giolito surrendered 12 runs and five homers over nine innings while mustering up just seven strikeouts. Giolito will look to keep the ball rolling in his next start, which is tentatively expected against the Rangers at Globe Life Field next week.

Giolito (6-8) took the loss Wednesday, allowing nine runs on eight hits and three walks over 3.2 innings against Atlanta. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Giolito served up a three-run home run to Ronald Acuna in the bottom of the third before completely unraveling in the fourth to the tune of six earned runs on four hits, including back-to-back homers from Austin Riley and Matt Olson. The newly-acquired right-hander allowed nine earned runs on the afternoon, which matched his career high, while failing to make it through four innings for the second time in his last four starts. His two strikeouts in the contest were also the fewest he's recorded in any start this season.

Giolito (6-7) took the loss Friday as the Angels fell 4-1 to the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Acquired from the White Sox on Wednesday, Giolito didn't pitch poorly in his debut for his new squad, but he got little run support and left the mound with the bases loaded after 73 pitches (45 strikes). Fortunately for his final line, Jose Soriano struck out two batters after relieving him to escape the jam. Giolito did serve up two more homers Friday, and his 22 long balls allowed on the season tie him for sixth-most in MLB, but he's been able to maintain palatable ratios with a 3.85 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 136:43 K:BB through 126.1 innings. The right-hander will look for his first win since June 28 in his next start, likely to come at home next week against the Mariners.

Giolito is scheduled to make his first start for the Angels on Friday in Toronto, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though he was acquired from the White Sox late Wednesday, Giolito has already arrived in Toronto while he waits for his new teammates to complete their doubleheader in Detroit on Thursday. The right-hander will be pitching on normal rest as he makes his first start for the Halos.

The White Sox traded Giolito to the Angels alongside Reynaldo Lopez on Wednesday in exchange for Edgar Quero and Ky Bush, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
On the heels of a five-inning shutout performance against the Twins last Sunday, Giolito will join Los Angeles' rotation as the Angels cement themselves as buyers ahead of the trade deadline. The 29-year-old righty holds a 3.79 ERA and 1.22 WHIP through 121 innings this season, though he's seen those numbers worsen over the past month. Giolito was scheduled to pitch Friday, but it's unclear at the moment when he'll make his Angels debut.
