Morrison is out of the lineup Saturday, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mariners have a trio of similar options to deploy at first base, and Jesus Montero will get the nod Saturday. Morrison has been a pretty big disappointment this season, and it would not be surprising to see the Mariners continue to try to get Montero a good amount of at-bats down the stretch.

Morrison went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in an 8-3 win over he A's on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Morrison hasn't had a great year, but he's been a reliable power-hitter for the Mariners this season. He now has 16 homers and 50 RBI in 122 games played and if it weren't for his .228 average, he would be more owned in standard-mixed formats. He has an OPS just shy of .800 against righties and his dreadful numbers against southpaws are really bringing down his season-long numbers.

Morrison hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning of Wednesday's game against the Astros and came around to score another run following a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Morrison was on the bench for a third straight game as Mark Trumbo picked up the start at first base, but he made his impact felt in a pinch-hitting role, giving the Mariners some huge insurance runs. Seattle recently demoted the struggling Jesus Montero back to Triple-A Tacoma, which could pave the way for Morrison to pick up more at-bats on the occasions Trumbo settles in as the team's right fielder or designated hitter.

Morrison is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrison will sit in favor of Mark Trumbo at first base for a second straight game, this time against a right-hander in Scott Feldman. While Morrison started five of six there at the end of August, he hit just .204/.278/.367 for the month, and it seems his playing time will remain sporadic over the final month.

Morrison is out of the lineup, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morrison makes way for Mark Trumbo at first base while Jesus Montero slides into the designated hitter role, leaving Morrison as the odd-man out. After back-to-back multi-hit games, Morrison is mired in a small 0-for-9 slide. He should continue to see the lion's share of starts at first base.

Seattle Mariners first baseman Logan Morrison took batting practice prior to Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners as he continues to recover from a thumb injury, according to the Seattle Times. Morrison is out of the lineup for the fifth consecutive game Monday but appears likely to be able to avoid a trip to the disabled list. He was able to pinch hit twice over the weekend and endured no setbacks, and no additional concerns were noted following Monday's activity. In Morrison's brief absence, manager Lloyd McClendon indicated the team will take a longer look at Jesus Montero down the stretch, leaving Morrison with an undetermined role upon his return. Morrison is batting a career-low .223 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI this season. In a limited sample size, Montero has hit .389 with one home run and three RBI over 18 at-bats since his promotion from Triple-A Tacoma, where he was hitting .346 with 16 home runs and 75 RBI.

Morrison is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels. With the Mariners facing another lefty, Jesus Montero will get a second straight start at first base. Morrison has typically stayed in the lineup to face southpaws this season, but his .412 OPS against them may lead to a platoon in the season's second half.
