Josh Willingham will not come off the disabled list Sunday as previously anticipated, as he's still dealing with tightness in his left Achilles.
"I'm bummed out," he said. "It's just very, very nagging." The A's haven't provided an updated timetable for his return, but Willingham thinks he'll likely be out through the All-Star break. It would be smart of the A's to play it safe, as the Achilles has bothered Willingham for a while now.

Josh Willingham (Achilles) is scheduled to DH for Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday and Friday.
Barring any setbacks, he will be activated from the disabled list as soon as he is eligible on Sunday. Willingham has been sidelined since June 18 with a strained left Achilles' tendon.

A's interim manager Bob Melvin said Josh Willingham (Achilles) is on track to come off the disabled list Sunday, the first day he's eligible.
Willingham had a running session last Thursday that didn't go well, but he's evidently made strides since then. The Achilles issue is something that he's dealt with for most of the season, so hopefully it's behind him.

Athletics placed OF Josh Willingham on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 18, with a strained left Achilles tendon.
We previously heard that the Athletics weren't considering a DL-stint, but they apparently didn't want to go short-handed any longer. Willingham is batting .237/.307/.410 with 10 homers and 42 RBI over 257 plate appearances this season. He'll need to prove he's healthy for any team to bite before the trade deadline.

Josh Willingham (Achilles) will sit out again Sunday and might not play Tuesday, either, after Monday's off day.
Willingham aggravated a nagging Achilles injury Friday. He's dealt with the ailment for a while but admitted that this is the worst its been. At the moment, the A's aren't considering the disabled list.

Josh Willingham had to leave Friday's game following the sixth inning after aggravating his Achilles injury.
It's the same ailment that he's been nursing for a few weeks now, and this time Willingham said the aggravation is worse. He's expected to need at least a few days of down time before returning to the lineup. It might not be a bad idea for the A's to just DL him and try to get rid of the injury for good.

Josh Willingham left Friday's game against the Giants after six innings with an apparent injury.
The nature of the injury isn't clear, but Joe Stiglich of the San Jose Mercury News writes that he looked "shaken up" after stealing third base and scoring in the third inning. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI double before leaving the game. Conor Jackson moved over to left field while Daric Barton entered the game to play first base. Stay tuned for an update on Willingham's status.
