The most impressive stat for Reddick is that he has just 58 strikeouts this year and that'll be a career-low rate by quite the margin.

With lefty Scott Kazmir due up for Houston, Reddick will head to the bench after starting the last three games the A's faced a southpaw. Reddick is batting .225/.290/.383 against left-handed pitching this season. Craig Gentry will draw the start in right field.

Reddick has put together a pretty nice season for the A's as he maintains a .275 average with 19 homers and 74 RBI in 136 games played. It's nice seeing him get more playing time against lefties, but it also has been bringing down his average, as he hits just .220 against southpaws. The .834 OPS against righties make him mixed league relevant and he could be in line for a good week next week, as he faces five righties in six games.

Reddick hit his 18th home run as part of a 2-for-4 game with three runs scored and four RBI Tuesday against the White Sox.

EDGE Analysis

Reddick now has three home runs in the past week and has raised his batting line to .280/.336/.462. All three of his triple-slash marks are his best in the past three seasons, and his .798 OPS would be a career high. Reddick is still lost against left-handers (.673 OPS), but he's having an excellent season overall.

Reddick's home run came in midst of a 9-for-44 slump with just four runs batted in. The 28-year-old hasn't quite lived up to his monstrous 2012 season, but has stayed healthy and provided solid offensive numbers at a reasonable price for fantasy owners.

The illness resulted in Reddick getting an early hook in Saturday's game and receiving the day off in Sunday's series finale against the Mariners, but it appears the short break was all the outfielder needed to get back to full health.
