Hamilton (shoulder) is expected to return to the lineup Saturday or Sunday, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. According to manager Mike Scioscia, Hamilton felt "a lot better" Friday, after receiving a cortisone shot to treat AC joint soreness in his right shoulder Thursday night. Hamilton will not be available in any capacity for the second game of the series against Minnesota, but it sounds like he has a good chance to return before the end of the week.

Hamilton will not play Friday against the Twins due to a sore shoulder, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Hamilton was able to log four plate appearances in Thursday's contest, going 1-for-3 with a single and a walk, but was replaced by Collin Cowgill in left field to begin the bottom of the eighth. Hamilton has apparently being playing through the ailment for a few days, but the discomfort seems to have flared up, as he received a cortisone shot after the game. He is officially considered day-to-day as a result of the ailment.

Hamilton was removed in the ninth inning against the Marlins on Wednesday due to tightness in his legs, but is expected to play Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Hamilton was replaced in left field by Collin Cowgill for the final three outs in the contest. The 33-year-old has dealt with this issue for the past few days, which resulted in him being the designated hitter in the previous two games, so the ailment may be worth monitoring for owners going forward.

Hamilton (hamstring) will return to left field Wednesday against the Marlins. Limited to DH duty the past two games, Hamilton will be able to return to the outfield Wednesday despite some lingering hamstring tightness. Hamilton said Tuesday that the ailment has restricted him to running "at about 85 percent," and while it looks like he'll be fine to continue playing through it, the team could opt to give him a day off this weekend with a pair of lefties (Jon Lester and Scott Kazmir) lined up to start for Oakland. Hamilton has started to come around a bit at the plate in recent days, with two doubles and two homers over the past week.

Hamilton has been dealing with tightness in his hamstring of late, which has resulted in him "running at about 85 percent," Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Hamilton, who went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's contest against the Marlins, was the designated hitter for the second consecutive day as a result of the ailment. The 33-year-old noted that he believes the injury is just normal wear and tear, which may indicate that he will attempt to continue playing through the injury.
