Singleton went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and two runs scored Tuesday against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Singleton was perhaps surprisingly in the lineup and starting at first base despite the promotion of Joey Loperfido. Singleton began his day with a walk before coming around to score in the third inning, and he followed that up one plate appearance later with his first home run of the campaign. He has the chance to see additional at-bats at first base with Jose Abreu demoted to the minors and Loperfido picking up at least some starts in the outfield. However, for Singleton to maintain regular plate appearances, he'll need to improve upon his .239/.327/.348 line.

Singleton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies in Mexico City, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Singleton seems to have moved into the strong side of a platoon at first base of late with the struggling Jose Abreu, though Abreu got the start in Saturday's 12-4 win against Rockies right-hander Cal Quantrill. After going 2-for-5 with two RBI in the win, Abreu will stick in the lineup Sunday against southpaw Austin Gomber. It's unclear if the Astros plan to bring Singleton back in the starting nine the next time they face off against a righty.

Singleton went 2-for-4 with a run scored Wednesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Singleton was in the lineup for the ninth time this season while filling in for Jose Abreu at first base and hitting seventh. He managed his second multi-hit performance of the campaign and is hitting .256 across 43 plate appearances. Even with Abreu's struggles this season, Singleton looks unlikely to pick up significant playing time.

Singleton will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite posting a lowly .500 OPS in spring training, Singleton was able to secure a spot on Houston's Opening Day roster as a bench bat. Singleton will pick up his second start of the season Wednesday, spelling a resting Jose Abreu at first base.

Singleton is out of minor-league options and could have the first chance on the big-league roster as a result, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Singleton had a standout game in which he hit two home runs and drove in five on Aug. 11, but his 105-plate appearance sample in the majors last year was otherwise unproductive. He maintained just a .165/.267/.264 line, though his 0.57 BB/K and .194 BABIP suggest he may have deserved better results. Singleton's most direct competition for a spot on the roster is likely to be the recently acquired Trey Cabbage.

Singleton is on the Astros' roster for the ALDS, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Singleton slashed .194/.301/.323 across 73 plate appearances with the Astros during the regular season and will continue to serve as Jose Abreu's primary backup at first base in the playoffs. Singleton is 6-for-22 with two homers and six RBI against lefties, so he could draw a few at-bats whenever Minnesota sends a southpaw to the mound.

Singleton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Since his big two-homer, five-RBI effort in a 11-3 win over the Angels on Aug. 11, Singleton has fallen into a 1-for-25 rut at the plate over his subsequent eight contests. Though Jose Abreu (back) remains on the injured list and without a clear timeline for a return, Singleton's ongoing slump may have cost him his role as the Astros' primary first baseman. Singleton will hit the bench for the second time in three games while the hot-hitting Yainer Diaz picks up another start at first base at his expense.

Singleton went 3-for-4 with two homers, five RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 11-3 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
The two blasts marked Singleton's first big-league home runs in more than eight years. Singleton was called up on August 8 and he made his second consecutive start for the Astros in place of an injured Jose Abreu. Prior to a previous stint this year with the Brewers, Singleton hadn't played in the majors since October 2, 2015. It's a great story for the 31-year-old who will attempt to carve out a role over the final two months of the season.

The Astros selected Singleton's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Singleton had slashed .333/.446/.692 with 12 home runs and 28 RBI through 33 games this summer for Sugar Land. He is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Orioles and could struggle to carve out regular playing time, but the 31-year-old should be a useful bat off the bench. He last appeared in a major-league game for the Astros way back in 2015, but he did suit up for 11 games with the Brewers earlier this season and produced a .103/.188/.138 slash line across 32 plate appearances over 11 games.

Singleton is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It has been eight years since Singleton last played for the Astros, but it appears he will get a chance to show what he can do at the top level for the first time since rejoining Houston in late June. Singleton appeared in 11 big-league games with the Brewers earlier this year but posted just a .326 OPS.
