The Orioles recalled Rickard from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Baltimore will waste no time putting Rickard on the field, as he will start in right field and bat sixth against Francisco Liriano and the Tigers on Saturday.

Rickard was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rickard played 111 games with the Orioles last season, but he could only muster a .241 batting average in that time. Things were worse this spring, as he batted .152 with 10 strikeouts in 33 at-bats. Since he has three options, the Orioles opted to give Rickard some more seasoning in the minors. His big-league experience could have him on the fast track to the bigs if an injury strikes in Baltimore, however.

Rickard was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
He has spent the bulk of the season in the majors, hitting .254/.290/.366 with four home runs and seven steals in 247 plate appearances. Rickard will struggle to see regular at-bats over the final month.

Rickard was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Rickard was sent back to the minors in order to clear room on the roster for Rule 5 pick Anthony Santander, who was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list. With Mark Trumbo back from the disabled list, Rickard was relegated to the bench and eventually deemed unneeded for the time being. The 26-year-old compiled a .254/.290/.368 slash line through 93 games (243 plate appearances) for the Orioles this season, and he should be back with the big club when rosters expand in September.

Rickard is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Despite turning in a three-hit, three-run performance Saturday, Rickard will be excluded from the starting nine for the third time in five games. Though Rickard had assumed an everyday role to begin August, the recent activation of Mark Trumbo from the disabled list looks like it could relegate Rickard to the bench against right-handed pitching moving forward.

Rickard is in the lineup Thursday, batting ninth and playing right field against the A's.
EDGE Analysis
After being cleared to play earlier Thursday, Rickard will get back in the lineup for Baltimore's series opener in Oakland after leaving Wednesday's game when he was hit in the helmet by a pitch. Rickard is slashing .242/.286/.333 with six RBI and two steals since the All-Star break.

Rickard (head) is cleared to play, Steve Melewski of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles have yet to release their lineup for Thursday's series opener in Oakland, but Rickard will be available if the club opts to deploy him in the outfield. Rickard, who has essentially served as the club's fourth outfield for much of the season, took a pitch off the helmet Wednesday against the Angels.

Manager Buck Showalter said that Rickard seems all right after being hit in the head by a pitch Wednesday, Steve Melewski of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was a scary scene as Rickard was rushed to the locker room after taking a fastball off the helmet, but the post-game news was encouraging. Showalter expects to know more tomorrow, but it's safe to assume Rickard will -- at the very least -- take a day or two off while his symptoms are evaluated.

Rickard was prematurely lifted from Wednesday's game against the Angels after being hit in the helmet by a pitch, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rickard was 0-for-1 before being forced out of the game in the top of the sixth inning. Craig Gentry came on to pinch run for the 26-year-old as he went straight into the locker room for further evaluation. More should be known about his status following the conclusion of Wednesday's contest.

Rickard will start in right field and bat ninth Tuesday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Rickard started in place of Seth Smith in the corner outfield the last two games when the opposition started left-handers, but there will be room in the lineup for both players Tuesday against right-hander Ian Kennedy. With Mark Trumbo (ribs) hitting the 10-day disabled list Monday, Rickard looks like he could have a clear path to everyday at-bats rather than have to settle for platoon duties with Smith, though it's conceivable that manager Buck Showalter could rotate in some of his other bench options into Trumbo's spot.
