Pineiro has now turned in just one quality start in his past seven outings, and as the owner of a 31/18 K/BB ratio through his first 70 1/3 innings of work this season, he is strictly a spot-starter for mixed-league players.

And there goes his streak of allowing four earned runs in five consecutive starts. Pineiro scattered six hits against three walks and four strikeouts. Usually known for his supreme command, he has walked three batters in each of his last three starts. He'll carry a 3.92 ERA into a start against the Marlins next week.
