Eickhoff allowed four earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five across five innings Sunday against the Rockies. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff allowed three home runs, accounting for all four of his earned runs in the contest. His skills were solid otherwise, as he managed to generate 15 swinging strikes and started 13 of the 22 batters he faced with a strike. However, his struggles with the long ball overshadow any positive work, as he's now allowed five home runs across his last two starts -- a span of nine innings. He'll look to be more effective in keeping the ball in the yard in his next start, but will face a tough test at Milwaukee on Friday.

Eickhoff (2-2) allowed five earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two to take the loss Tuesday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff was burned by the longball -- he surrendered a three-run home run to Yasmani Grandal and a two-run shot to Ryan Braun -- in his worst start of the season. However, those were the first two home runs he allowed this season, and despite the rough outing, his 2.65 ERA and 1.15 WHIP are indicative of well he had pitched prior to the start. Despite the strong results, it's worth noting that Eickhoff continued to issue free passes Tuesday, and has now allowed 3.44 BB/9 across 34 innings. He'll look to rebound in his next start, likely to come on Sunday at home against the Rockies.

Eickhoff (2-1) earned the win against the Cardinals on Wednesday by allowing only three hits over eight scoreless innings. He struck out four and walked three.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff turned in his best performance of the season as he didn't allow a baserunner to reach second base until Yadier Molina's ground-rule double during the eighth inning. The 28-year-old has given up only one run on eight hits in his last three starts (20 innings). Eickhoff next figures to face the Brewers early next week.

Eickhoff didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Nationals, allowing one run on three hits and three walks while striking out seven across five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff was on track to record his second consecutive quality start but was removed prior to the sixth inning at just 87 pitches -- likely a precaution given his injury history. The right-hander has been sharp in four appearances (three starts) since earning a promotion in mid-April, compiling a 2.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 22 innings. Eickhoff will look to keep things rolling in his next start, which will come on the road against the Cardinals.

Eickhoff (1-1) threw seven shutout innings, allowing only two hits with six strikeouts and a walk in a victory against the Marlins on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
This was only Eickhoff's second start of the year, but he also has a four-inning scoreless relief appearance to his name. Eickhoff struggled in his other start, giving up four runs and four walks. On Friday, he threw 57 of 88 pitches for strikes, including 15 called strikes. Eickhoff is 1-1 with a 2.12 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 17 innings this season. His next start is scheduled to be Friday against the Nationals.

Eickhoff (0-1) allowed four earned runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out eight across six innings to take the loss Sunday against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff danced in and out of trouble in his first start of the season, but handled Coors fairly well by allowing only two extra-base hits and no home runs. He entered the sixth inning having allowed only one earned run but ultimately let the first four runners he faced reach base, leading to a three-run inning. He'll be in a much better environment to succeed in his next start, which comes at home against Miami.

Eickhoff is expected to move into the Phillies' rotation Sunday against the Rockies after Philadelphia optioned Nick Pivetta to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though it was Nick Pivetta who came away with the victory in Tuesday's 14-3 win over the Mets, Eickhoff was the far more impressive of the two pitchers while working his long relief. In what marked his 2019 debut for the Phillies after he opened the season in the minors, Eickhoff struck out six and gave up three hits and no walks over four scoreless frames to notch the save. Pivetta, meanwhile, failed to record a quality start for the fourth time in as many turns and recorded more walks than strikeouts in what was somehow his best outing of the season, prompting the Phillies to go in another direction at the back end of the rotation. After the lengthy relief appearance, Eickhoff should be reasonably stretched out heading into his start this weekend, though he could struggle to find success while pitching at Coors Field.

Eickhoff tossed four scoreless innings of relief Tuesday, allowing three hits and striking out six, to record his first career save in a 14-3 rout of the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley earlier in the day and immediately thrust into action, albeit in a mop-up role. Eickhoff threw 59 pitches (38 strikes), and despite the strong outing he could immediately be optioned back down for a fresh bullpen arm as he won't be available to pitch again for a few days.

Eickhoff was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Injuries, including a lat strain and carpal tunnel syndrome, stole most of Eickhoff's 2018 campaign. The later issue popped up again in spring, delaying his Grapefruit League debut and causing him to start the season in the minors. He's been an effective back-end starter in the past, and could be one again if called upon this season, but he looks to be in a long-relief role for now, as Drew Anderson was the player optioned in a corresponding move.

The Phillies optioned Eickhoff to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff's spring training debut was delayed by a recurrence of symptoms relating to the carpal tunnel surgery he required in January, but he returned to action March 11 and looked good over three Grapefruit League appearances, giving up four runs across nine innings while striking out 12. Because Eickhoff had missed the majority of the 2018 campaign while recovering from a lat strain, the Phillies likely want to see him pitch on a regular basis in the minors before giving him an extended look at the major-league level. Eickhoff could be the top choice for a callup in the event either Zach Eflin and/or Vince Velasquez flop as the Phillies' back-end starters.
