Phillies pitching coach Bob McClure wants Eickhoff to work on his change-up this offseason, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff could use a pitch to better neutralize lefties, who have a .903 OPS against him in 64 at-bats this season. That said, he has had solid results since being promoted to the majors last month which should give him the inside track on a rotation spot next spring.

Eickhoff took a no-decision on Saturday against the Braves, giving up five hits and two walks in seven innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff has now posted quality starts in five of his six trips to the mound in 2015. He has been in particularly impressive form in his last two contests, surrendering only one earned run and striking out 13 batters over his last 14 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander also was able to successfully avoid the long ball Saturday for the first time since an Aug. 26 start against the Mets. Eickhoff's overall performance has served to provide hope for the future for a Phillies squad that has endured a forgettable 2015 season.

Eickhoff (1-3) took the loss Sunday at Boston, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff gave up a two-run homer to David Ortiz in the first inning and had the Phillies down 6-0 in the second inning before he settled down a bit and completed four innings of work. After throwing quality starts in his first three appearances with the Phillies, his first poor outing of the season raised his ERA from 2.84 to 4.70. His next start will be Friday against the Cubs.

Eickhoff was tagged with his second loss of the season Monday despite a solid performance against the Mets. He allowed three runs on four hits over seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Eickhoff gave up home runs to Michael Conforto and Curtis Granderson in the fifth inning. That was all the offense the Mets needed. He is now 1-2 with a 2.84 ERA and a 15:4 K:BB ratio in 19 innings since being promoted to the majors.

Eickhoff (1-1) took the loss Wednesday after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk over six innings against the Mets. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie's second major league start wasn't nearly as impressive as his first, but Eickhoff was able to calm things down after giving up three runs in the first inning, retiring 16 consecutive Mets before giving up a couple hits and the fourth run in his final inning of work. The 25-year-old wasn't terribly impressive for Triple-A Round Rock (4.25 ERA) before being dealt to the Phillies in the Cole Hamels deal, but he did better following the move to the International League, posting a 2.49 ERA over three starts with Triple-A Lehigh Valley. At age 25, he's not exactly a prospect, especially with his fringe secondary stuff, but he's got a good line on staying in the Phillies' rotation for the duration of the season.
