Jeff Mathis followed up Sunday's walkoff grand slam with a three-RBI game Monday against the Padres.
Mathis has 11 RBI in his last four starts, making this probably the best little stretch of his career. Anyone banking on him keeping it up should note that he still has a .154 average even after this little outburst.

Jeff Mathis smashed a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning of Sunday's win over the Padres.
The Padres chose to walk Greg Dobbs to load the bases with one out for the light-hitting Mathis, who was batting just .115 going into the plate appearance. It backfired, as Mathis launched the second homer in his last three starts.

Jeff Mathis (collarbone) is hopeful to return in the early part of May.
Mathis was originally given a 4-for-6 week timetable when he suffered a broken collarbone on February 23, but he thinks an April return would be pushing it. Kyle Skipworth is the top internal candidate to serve as Rob Brantly's backup for the first month of the season.
