Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday in his appearance on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that Chisholm (shoulder) will move back to second base.
EDGE Analysis
Boone had already seemed to be leaning toward shifting Chisholm to second base, and Chisholm's bout with right shoulder soreness likely cinched the decision. Chisholm was out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Mets as he battles through the nagging shoulder problem, but he'll be back in the lineup Tuesday versus the Mariners and will cover the keystone. Chisholm, who is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets, said he's been dealing with a shoulder injury for about three weeks, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old indicated that the injury is more bothersome when throwing than hitting, and he'll get a couple days to rest thanks to Monday's team off day. The injury can help explain Chisholm's especially poor defense of late, as he's committed five errors in the past 10 games. Oswald Peraza will fill in at the hot corner Sunday for the Yankees.
