Shuster (3-2) earned the win over Washington on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and no walks over five-plus innings. He didn't strike out any batters.
EDGE Analysis
Shuster wasn't exactly overpowering -- he induced only four swinging strikes and, for the first time in his career, didn't record a single punchout -- but the rookie nonetheless pitched well enough to push his record above .500 for the first time. The southpaw gave up only one run over 4.2 frames, but a two-run double by Lane Thomas with two outs in the fifth scuffed up Shuster's final line a bit. The hurler still came out for the next frame, but he was removed after giving up back-to-back singles to begin the inning. After surrendering four runs in each of his first two outings, Shuster has given up three or fewer runs in each of his subsequent five starts. That should be good enough for him to keep a spot in Atlanta's rotation, though he's a shaky fantasy option in redraft leagues given his overall 5.05 ERA and especially his poor 21:19 K:BB over 35.2 frames.

Shuster (2-2) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks across 5.1 innings during a 4-2 victory over the Athletics. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Shuster has made four straight starts since being recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett in mid-May. He's finished at least five innings and allowed three or fewer runs in each of those appearances. However, walks remain an issue for the rookie left-hander, who holds a questionable 21:19 K:BB over his first 30.2 career innings. Regardless, the 2020 first-round pick figures to see plenty of work at the big-league level with Kyle Wright (shoulder) and Max Fried (forearm) not expected back from the injured list until July. Shuster's next start is scheduled during a three-game home stand versus the Mets.

Shuster didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Phillies, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie southpaw was headed toward his second straight win when he exited the game after 89 pitches (57 strikes), but the Atlanta bullpen couldn't make the lead hold up. Shuster has delivered three straight solid outings since rejoining the rotation in mid-May, posting a 3.78 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 16.2 innings, and he figures to build on those numbers in his next outing, likely to come next week in Oakland.

Shuster (1-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk over six innings in a 3-2 win over the Mariners. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The only hit Shuster allowed through a career-high six innings was a solo home run to Jarred Kelenic in the second. It was by far the rookie's best start of his short career, as he lowered his ERA from 7.24 to 5.49 and recorded a season-high seven strikeouts. Shuster figures to see plenty of work at the big-league level with Kyle Wright (shoulder) and Max Fried (forearm) not expected back from the injured list until July, especially if he continues to pitch like he did Sunday. The 2020 first-round pick's next start is scheduled during a four-game set versus the Phillies.

Shuster (0-2) took the loss Tuesday as Atlanta fell 7-4 to the Rangers, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The young southpaw didn't pitch too badly, tossing 42 of 66 pitches for strikes and holding Texas off the board in four of his five frames, but Shuster exited the game with his team down 3-1 and Atlanta was never able to draw level. With Kyle Wright (shoulder) and Max Fried (forearm) not expected back until some time in July, Shuster figures to see plenty of work in the big-league rotation over the next couple months along with Dylan Dodd and potentially Michael Soroka, but his 7.24 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and 8:11 K:BB through 13.2 innings make him an unappealing fantasy option.

Shuster was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett by Atlanta on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Shuster is set to start Tuesday against the Rangers and has a chance to stick around for a while as his team battles multiple injuries in the rotation. The left-hander has posted an 8.31 ERA and 5:9 K:BB over 8.2 innings in his two starts in the majors this season and has also been inconsistent at Gwinnett, so fantasy managers would be wise to take a wait-and-see approach.

Shuster will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Tuesday's game against the Rangers, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shuster has been knocked around in both of his previous two starts this season, allowing four runs in each outing while giving up 12 combined hits. He'll be asked to take the mound Tuesday in place of Max Fried, who was sent to the 15-day IL on May 9 due to a forearm strain.

Shuster will likely get the call to start in place of Max Fried (forearm) Wednesday against the Red Sox, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dylan Dodd would be the other option, but he was just sent back to Triple-A Gwinnett last Friday and isn't eligible to return until next week, unless there's another injury on Atlanta's current active roster. Shuster has pitched well this year in the minors but has surrendered eight earned runs on 12 hits and nine walks in 8.2 major-league innings. He's a risky fantasy bet versus Boston.

Shuster was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old surrendered four runs across four innings and issued four walks Friday against the Padres, and it's not a surprise he's returning to the minors with Kyle Wright (shoulder) nearing his return from the injured list. Shuster's big-league career hasn't gotten off to a great start with an 8.31 ERA, 2.42 WHIP and 5:9 K:BB through two outings.

Shuster gave up four runs on six hits and four walks over four innings during Friday's 5-4 loss to the Padres. He had four strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old got into trouble early Friday, as the Friars struck for two runs in the opening frame on two hits and three walks, including one free pass with the bases loaded. Shuster has surrendered eight runs on 12 hits with a 5:9 K:BB across 8.2 innings through his first two big-league starts, and he's likely headed back to the minors with Kyle Wright (shoulder) poised to return from the injured list early next week.
