Kaprielian (0-3) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings in a 5-0 loss to the Rangers. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Kaprielian rejoined the Athletics from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday and immediately took the mound against Texas. After giving up 18 runs across his first three starts (13.1 innings), Kaprielian was pushed to the bullpen. He managed just three relief appearances before being sent down to the minors, giving up five runs over 2.2 innings. Despite the shift to the pen, Kaprielian was fully stretched out Saturday, throwing 104 pitches over seven innings. Though he only gave up three runs while striking out seven, the A's offense was shut out by Jon Gray and John King, handing Kaprielian his third loss of the season. Though the start was a sign of life for the 29-year-old, it's unlikely that Kaprielian remains a part of Oakland's pitching rotation moving forward.

Kaprielian will start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team will push its other five starters back a day and stick with a six-man rotation despite Mason Miller (elbow) landing on the shelf. Kaprielian was just recalled from Triple-A, where he made two strong starts after struggling to a 12.94 ERA in 16 MLB innings prior to getting demoted.

Kaprielian was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kaprielian, who was demoted to Triple-A in late-April, gave up one earned run on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven across 8.1 innings in two starts at Triple-A. He would be an option to work in long relief this weekend, as he last pitched May 7, but it's also possible the A's go to a six-man rotation and slot Kaprielian in sometime in the coming days.

Kaprielian, who fired five scoreless innings for Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday in his second minor-league start since being optioned to the Aviators, is a candidate to be called up if Mason Miller's elbow tightness causes him to miss at least one turn, the Athletics' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander faced Sacramento on Sunday for the second time in as many starts for Las Vegas and was even sharper than the first time around, allowing just three hits and no walks while recording three strikeouts. Kaprielian exhibited some significant control problems and couldn't keep the ball in the park consistently during three starts for Oakland before being sent to the bullpen, but he's issued just two free passes and hasn't allowed a home run during his first 8.1 innings on the farm. Word on Miller's short-term availability or lack thereof should be imminent following further evaluation by team doctors that was slated for the early part of the week.

Kaprielian started Triple-A Las Vegas' win over Sacramento on Tuesday, allowing an earned run on four hits and two walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out four and didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Kaprielian's location wasn't exactly at its sharpest -- he got just 43 of his 72 pitches into the strike zone -- but the outing seemingly served as a solid starting point overall to his attempted reset at the Triple-A level. Kaprielian's earned himself a trip down to the farm after opening the season by pitching to an array of concerning numbers that included a 12.94 ERA, 2.38 WHIP, 7.9 BB/9 and 2.8 HR/9 across six outings (three starts). The right-hander is likely due for an extended stint in Las Vegas that will allow him to build confidence and sharpen up his game before a return to the major-league club is considered.

Kaprielian was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Kaprielian has struggled mightily for the Athletics to begin the 2023 campaign while allowing 23 runs in 16 innings to register a 12.94 ERA with an unhealthy 18:14 K:BB in his six appearances. He'll head down to the Pacific Coast League to hopefully figure some things out while Luis Medina has been recalled from Las Vegas to take his place on the roster.

Kaprielian allowed three earned runs on four hits over one inning of relief while recording a strikeout in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
It was the second straight relief outing for Kaprielian after making his first three appearances of the season as a member of the starting rotation and pitching to a 12.15 ERA and 3.4 HR/9 in the process. The struggling right-hander tossed 24 pitches during his one frame Saturday, and with Paul Blackburn's (finger) season debut potentially being pushed back into early May due to a blister that caused his latest rehab start to be postponed, Kaprielian could be set for a spot start Thursday against the Angels.

Kaprielian tossed a scoreless inning of relief in the Athletics' 4-0 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to Tuesday's contest, Athletics manager Mark Kotsay told Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle that his plans for Kaprielian and the rest of the team's rotation were fluid beyond Thursday's off day, but at least for now, the right-hander looks like he may be viewed as the team's sixth starter. Kaprielian's relief appearance came three days after he was blasted for six runs over 3.2 innings in a start against the Mets, inflating his season ERA to 12.15. Oakland has already named JP Sears, Shintaro Fujinami and Kyle Muller as its starters for the three-game weekend series in Texas, so Kaprielian looks like he's been pushed to the back of the pitching schedule. In order to allow Fujinami to remain on a once-a-week pitching schedule, Oakland is expected to maintain a six-man rotation, but even Kaprielian's hold on the No. 6 starting spot could be precarious. Both Drew Rucinski (hamstring) and Paul Blackburn (finger) are in the midst of rehab assignments and could soon be ready to return from the 15-day injured list to give Oakland additional rotation options.

Kaprielian (0-2) took the loss Friday, allowing six runs on four hits and seven walks over 3.2 innings against the Mets. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
This is now three bad starts for Kaprielian in as many appearances. While it's still early, the righty's 12.15 ERA thus far is not doing much to help the last-place A's. The 29-year-old will need to start stringing together some better games in order to keep his rotation spot long-term.

Kaprielian (0-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks over 4.2 innings against the Rays. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Kaprielian gave up five runs in five innings during his season debut against the Guardians on Monday, and he wasn't able to generate much production during Sunday's series finale against the undefeated Rays. He allowed just one run over the first three innings but gave up six runs between the fourth and fifth frames before being pulled. The right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Mets next weekend.
