Junis (hand) will remain on turn for now, but the Giants will continue to evaluate him ahead of Sunday's scheduled start against the Twins, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Slusser notes that it is a pain tolerance issue in Junis' non-throwing hand, and that he could get skipped or pushed back if there are any concerns at all ahead of Sunday's game. He has been excellent over his last two starts, logging a 2.63 WHIP, 0.66 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 13.2 innings, with one of those starts coming in Coors Field.

Junis (hand) underwent scans that came back negative after leaving Sunday's game against the Rockies, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis was hit by a comebacker on his glove hand in the bottom of the seventh inning Sunday, but initial test results are encouraging. The right-hander will undergo a CT scan Monday, but it's possible that he avoids a trip to the injured list if he ultimately isn't dealing with structural damage. If he's cleared to make his next start, he projects to start on the road against Minnesota on Sunday.

Junis was removed from Sunday's game against the Rockies in the bottom of the seventh inning after taking a line drive off his left hand, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Junis started Sunday's matchup and allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six in 6.2 innings. Although he threw the ball to first base after being hit on his glove hand, he appeared to be in considerable pain and was immediately removed from the game. The severity of his injury isn't yet clear, so his status for his next turn through the rotation remains to be seen.

Junis registered a no-decision during Tuesday's 2-1 win against Arizona, allowing one run on four hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Junis engaged in an unlikely pitcher's duel with opposing starter Merrill Kelly and appeared to be done in by a Christian Walker solo shot in the fourth inning until Brandon Crawford walked it off in the ninth to erase him from the ledger. The 29-year-old had his best stuff working with 16 swinging strikes on 101 pitches and fell one short of his season high with seven strikeouts. Other than last starts blip, Junis has held opponents to three runs or fewer in each of his last eight turns and possesses a solid 3.53 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 63 strikeouts in 71.1 innings. He currently lines up for another start this week Sunday in Colorado.

Junis allowed six earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three across 2.1 innings Wednesday against the Padres. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Junis got through two scoreless innings, but he allowed the first seven batters he faced to reach base in the third frame before being yanked. Despite being in the rotation consistently since the All-Star break, Junis has yet to work more than 4.1 innings in four outings. He's also allowed 10 earned runs across 14.1 innings in that span, inflating his overall ERA to 3.78 across 64.1 frames for the season.

Junis (4-3) allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five across 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Dodgers.
EDGE Analysis
Junis surrendered only one run before being pulled, but he labored throughout the start. He allowed multiple baserunners in each of his last three frames and needed 79 pitches to record 14 outs. Junis has failed to complete more than 4.1 innings in any of his three starts since being activated from the injured list July 16. Overall, he has a 3.05 ERA with a 53:14 K:BB across 62 innings for the season.

Junis allowed five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in four scoreless innings, taking a no-decision Saturday versus the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Junis stretched out to 74 pitches, but he wasn't very efficient with them in throwing only 45 strikes in this outing. He was at least able to keep runs off the board for the first time in three appearances since returning from a hamstring injury. The 29-year-old owns a 2.78 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 48:12 K:BB through 58.1 innings in 12 outings (nine starts) this year. Junis is projected for a tough home start versus the Dodgers next week.

Junis (4-2) allowed a run on three hits, a walk and a hit batter with two strikeouts in 4.1 innings, taking the loss Monday versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Junis allowed more baserunners than the Giants contributed in the entire contest, and he received no run support in his first start since June 10. The right-hander wasn't bad, but he was limited to 62 pitches (38 strikes) as he continues to build back up after missing over a month with a hamstring strain. He's been generally effective with a 2.98 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 44:11 K:BB through 54.1 innings in 11 appearances (eight starts) this season. He's projected for a home start versus the Cubs this weekend, though it's likely Junis will still have a workload restriction for at least a couple more outings.

Junis is slated to start Monday's game in Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
After he was reinstated from the injured list July 16, Junis was available out of the bullpen for the Giants' final two games before the All-Star break since the team was able to temporarily get by with a four-man rotation. With San Francisco opening its post-break schedule with five games in five days, Junis will slot back into the rotation, though he could have a workload restriction Monday. Before making a two-inning relief appearance following his return from the IL a week and a half ago, Junis covered only two frames in both of his minor-league rehab outings.

Junis tossed two innings out of the bullpen in Sunday's 9-5 win over the Brewers, giving up three earned runs on five hits and no walks while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Before landing on the injured list in mid-June with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, Junis had been working as a starter, but the Giants chose to ease him back in a relief role after he was activated Saturday. Though Junis struggled in his appearance out of the bullpen, he should be the leading candidate to jump back into the rotation when the Giants first require a fifth starter coming out of the All-Star break. Through 10 appearances (seven starts) for the big club in 2022, Junis has posted a 3.06 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 42:10 K:BB in 50 innings.
