Petricka (arm) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports. Petricka took another step in his recovery Wednesday, throwing from a mound without issue. It's not clear how many more times he will throw before being activated from the disabled list, but he is on track to return to the White Sox' bullpen sometime in the next few weeks.

Petricka (forearm) is scheduled to throw a side session Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports. Petricka can come off the DL on Saturday, but general manager Rick Hahn said he does not think he will be activated at that time. However, it should not be too much longer until Petricka is pitching in the late-innings.

Petricka (arm) was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn has already confirmed that Petricka will begin the season on the disabled list, so this announcement is merely a formality at this point. The right-hander isn't expected to miss more than the minimum required games, however.

General manager Rick Hahn confirmed Monday that Petricka will start the season on the disabled list, ESPN Chicago reports. Hahn said he does not believe Petricka will miss time beyond the requisite 15 days, but he does not want to rush the reliever back into action with only a week remaining of camp. Zach Putnam and Zach Duke should occupy key bullpen roles with Petricka out.

Petricka (arm soreness) threw from 90 feet Sunday, but he may still start the season on the disabled list, the Chicago Tribune reports. An MRI on Petricka's arm came back clean last week, but it appears the White Sox will take a cautious approach with Petricka. He figures to be one of the team's top setup men when healthy.

Petricka (arm soreness) will resume throwing Saturday, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports. An MRI came back clean, allowing Petricka to make a quick return to the mound. He still figures to be ready by Opening Day, and he'll work as a setup man in front of David Robertson.

Petricka is dealing with soreness in his arm, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports. At this point, the Sox aren't concerned with the issue, but Petricka could miss a day or two to rest his fatigued arm. In five appearances this spring Petricka has allowed five hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts in 4.2 cumulative innings.

Petricka, who finished the 2014 season as the White Sox's primary closer, will likely shift back to a setup role with news that the team had signed David Robertson to a four-year contract Monday. The White Sox's closer spot spent much of 2014 in turmoil, but Petricka lent a bit of stability to the position for the final month-plus of the year. He should serve as one of the club's top right-handed setup men to Robertson in 2015.

Petricka left Saturday's game against the Royals with arm discomfort, Doug Padilla of ESPN.com reports. Petricka had only faced two batters before leaving. He was replaced in the ninth inning by Javy Guerra. Petricka had saved five of the past 10 games for the White Sox but was allowing a .333 average to opposing hitters this month.

Petricka earned his 14th save of the season Monday against the Tigers as he recorded one strikeout in 1.1 perfect innings. The White Sox struggled for much of this season to find a consistent closer, but Petricka has stepped in and done a pretty solid job overall. Even though he has pitched well, it's not certain that he will be the team's closer again next season.
