Petricka threw a scoreless inning, striking out one, in Friday's exhibition against Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
It was Petricka's first game since being hit on the right hand by a comebacker Monday and everything appeared to go smoothly. The 28-year-old is expected to serve an important role in the White Sox bullpen this year after missing most of last season with a hip impingement.

X-rays on Petricka's right hand were negative and he is day-to-day, MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was hit by a comebacker Monday, but appears to have avoided a fracture. If that diagnosis holds, he should be able to avoid a DL stint to start the season. Petricka should serve as a middle reliever this season for the White Sox.

Petricka is scheduled to have X-rays taken on his right hand after being hit by a comebacker Monday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Petricka took the hard-hit ball off his pitching hand, though the severity of the injury still isn't known. Given the short time between now and Opening Day, the 28-year-old's status for the start of the season could be in question. More information regarding his injury should be known after the X-rays, so expect another update when his results are disclosed.

Petricka said he's "feeling great" this spring 10 months after undergoing hip surgery, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 28-year-old right-hander has made four spring appearances, allowing two runs while striking out five and walking none over five Cactus League innings. Petricka, who saved 14 games in 2014, is expected to be an important late-inning reliever for the White Sox this season. Along with Nate Jones, he could be a candidate for saves, if the organization trades closer David Robertson as expected at some point in 2017.

Petricka agreed to a one-year, $825,000 deal with the White Sox on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Chris Cotillo of The Daily Dish reports.
EDGE Analysis
The White Sox shored up their bullpen Thursday by re-signing Petricka and Dan Jennings to one-year deals. Petricka had an injury-shortened 2016, making just nine appearances before being shelved by a hip injury that required season-ending surgery. He had been durable prior to the hip injury, notching over 60 appearances in each of his previous two seasons. Petricka figures to be one of Chicago's most heavily used middle relievers in 2017 provided that he bounces back from the hip injury.

Petricka (hip) was activated from the 60-day disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Petricka missed almost the entirety of the 2016 season with a hip injury, as he last pitched May 1. His upcoming return should help strengthen a subpar White Sox bullpen that had a collective ERA of 3.68 in 2016.

Petricka was transferred to the 60-day DL on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Petrick underwent season-ending hip surgery last month, and the move serves only as a formality to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. The Sox will use it to add catcher Omar Narvaez, whose contract was purchased from Triple-A on Wednesday.

Petricka underwent season-ending hip surgery Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Petricka's 2016 season is officially over as he went under the knife Friday to repair an impingement in his hip. The 28-year old now faces a long road to recovery but should be fully healed by the time spring training rolls around next season.

Manager Robin Ventura said Petricka is still dealing with a sore hip and is not yet ready to return from the disabled list, the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Petricka could have come off the disabled list earlier in the week, but he will instead remain on the DL for an indeterminate amount of time. His absence has allowed Matt Purke to remain on the active roster.

Petricka was placed on the 15-day DL on Thursday with a left hip impingement.
EDGE Analysis
The move is retroactive to May 2, so he could return as soon as May 17 against the Astros. Tommy Kahnle was recalled from Triple-A to take his spot in the bullpen in the meantime.
