Odorizzi (6-7) was handed the loss against the Mariners on Wednesday after allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi made it through five scoreless frames but came back for the sixth and was pulled after surrendering a single and a walk to open up the inning. The runner on second came around to score on a sacrifice fly, which ended up being the only run scored by either team. The 31-year-old reached seven strikeouts for just the third time in 13 starts since June 21 and induced 14 whiffs on the day overall. He's allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five outings but hasn't reached the six-inning mark since July 9. Odorizzi owns a 4.32 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 82:31 K:BB over 89.2 innings and lines up for a rematch against the Mariners next week.

Odorizzi has completed five innings in each of his last four starts, collecting two wins in that span. He's trimmed his ERA to 4.46 with a 1.25 WHIP and 75:29 K:BB across 84.2 innings overall. Odorizzi (6-6) allowed one run on four hits and four walks with eight strikeouts through 5.2 innings, getting the win in Saturday's 15-1 drubbing of the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Entering play, Odorizzi had a 6.52 ERA against the Mariners in two starts this season. He worked to shrink that number Saturday night, cruising through 5.2 innings of one-run ball against Seattle. After striking out three or fewer in his last four starts, the eight whiffs are a welcomed sight. The only damage to his line was a Mitch Haniger homer that came after Odorizzi spent over half an hour sequestered in the dugout while his teammates hung a six-spot on the scoreboard. The 31-year-old's next chance will likely come Friday against the Rangers.

Odorizzi gave up three runs through the first three innings Monday, including two RBI base hits by Ryan O'Hearn. His night was over after Hunter Dozier took him deep for a solo shot in the sixth. He's given up at least three runs in five of his last six outings, bumping his season ERA up to 4.74 through 74 innings. Odorizzi is lined up to face the Mariners at home this weekend.

Odorizzi (5-6) earned the win Tuesday against the Rockies after tossing five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while fanning three.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi was coming off a woeful start the last time out when he gave up seven runs (six earned) across three innings at the Dodgers, but he managed to bounce back here and posted his first scoreless outing since late June. While he wasn't dominant by any means, this outing might act as a confidence booster for Odorizzi after he had allowed 17 runs (16 earned) across 16.1 innings over his previous four starts.

Odorizzi (4-6) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers after allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks while fanning three across three innings.
EDGE Analysis
The main reason why Odorizzi lasted just three innings Wednesday was his issue with the long ball, as he gave up a season-worst four homers before departing the contest. Odorizzi allowed three homers in the season opener and seemed to since have that issue under control, but the problems have resurfaced of late and he has given up eight homers over his last four starts. He owns an 8.82 ERA and 1.84 WHIP across 16.1 innings during that four-game sample size.

Odorizzi (4-5) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over 5.1 innings to pick up the win over Seattle on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
After a scoreless first inning, the Astros scored in each of the next five frames to give Odorizzi an 8-0 cushion, which turned out to be enough to survive the starter's third trip through the Mariners lineup. Seattle crushed a pair home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, including a two-run blast from old friend Abraham Toro, the former Astro who also homered against his former club Tuesday, the same day he was traded to Seattle. Batters are now 10-for-22 when facing Odorizzi for a third time in a game, per Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. Odorizzi's turn in the rotation comes due next Wednesday on the road against the Dodgers.

He coughed up three runs, including a two-run triple by Nate Lowe, before he was knocked out of the game. Odorizzi (3-5) lasted just 3.1 innings while taking the loss against the White Sox on Saturday. He allowed four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out one.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi has pitched well since returning from a forearm injury, posting a 2.29 ERA in 39.1 innings, but he battled command issues Saturday. He walked a season high and allowed as many home runs as he did over the previous 44 innings. Odorizzi's next start is expected Friday or Saturday at home against the Rangers.

Odorizzi (3-4) allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi worked around a couple of jams before yielding a two-run double to Brett Gardner in the fourth inning. He was handed his first loss since June 3 and broke a three-game winning streak. Still, he enters the All-Star break on a high note, allowing two or fewer runs in five consecutive appearances. The veteran righty lowered his season ERA to 3.61 alongside a 44:12 K:BB through 47.1 innings.
