Odorizzi (forearm) threw 77 pitches across 4.2 scoreless innings for Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was Odorizzi's second rehab outing, and he appears to be nearing a return to the majors, although manager Dusty Baker did not know if another rehab start is needed. The right-hander has been sidelined since April 26 with a right pronator muscle strain.

Odorizzi (forearm) will make his second rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A rainout Saturday scuttled the Skeeters' rotation plans for the weekend. Framber Valdez (finger), who is also on a rehab assignment, had his start moved from Saturday to Sunday, while Odorizzi will throw the first game of a doubleheader Monday. He's expected to throw between 75 and 80 pitches during the start, which could be his final one before rejoining the major-league club.

Odorizzi (forearm) is scheduled to throw between 75 and 80 pitches in Sunday's rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Both Odorizzi and Framber Valdez (finger) were scheduled to throw for the Skeeters this weekend, but Valdez's start Saturday was wiped out due to weather, which leaves Sunday's rotation plans uncertain. Saturday's postponed game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Monday, so both pitchers should get their work in over the next two days. Odorizzi previously said he'd need just two rehab starts, but an exact timeline has not yet been established. He threw 57 pitches during his first rehab outing last week.

Odorizzi (forearm) will make his next rehab appearance Sunday with Triple-A Sugar Land, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The exact timeline for Odorizzi's return to Houston is unclear, but his third rehab start with the Triple-A squad will be the next step toward the righty's activation from the injured list. Odorizzi struggled considerably in his first two MLB starts of 2021 before suffering the forearm strain in his third outing, though he will still likely slot in as a back-of-the-rotation starter for the Astros once healthy.

Odorizzi (forearm) threw three innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Steve Schaeffer of the Houston Chronicle reports. He allowed four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi sandwiched a pair of good innings around one bad, which included a three-run home run. The right-hander threw 36 strikes among his 57 pitches and needed just nine in a 1-2-3 third inning after giving up four runs in the second frame. It's unclear what the next step is, but another rehab start to build up pitch count could be in order.

Odorizzi (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
After completing a 35-pitch live batting practice session Wednesday, Odorizzi is ready to return to game action. It's not clear how many pitches he will throw against Round Rock on Monday. Regardless, if he makes it through unscathed, Odorizzi could theoretically return as soon as next weekend to take the spot vacated by Jose Urquidy (shoulder). Kent Emanuel would be another candidate for that opening, if the Astros feel they don't want to rush things with Odorizzi.

Odorizzi (forearm) looked good while throwing 35 pitches in live batting practice Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following his successful throwing session Wednesday, Odorizzi is expected to start for Triple-A Sugar Land in the near future as part of a rehab assignment. Odorizzi said that he'll need at least two starts in the minors, and his first appearance with Triple-A Sugar Land should be Monday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. Given that timeline, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Odorizzi to be activated from the 10-day injured list until the final week of May at the earliest.

Odorizzi (forearm) will face live batters Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi recently threw a 37-pitch bullpen session over the weekend and is progressing toward a return to Houston's starting rotation. If all goes well, a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugarland would be the next step. The club may want him to make a couple of starts in the minors, putting him on a path to return late May. In the meantime, Luis Garcia will take Odorizzi's turns in the rotation.

Manager Dusty Baker said Sunday that Odorizzi (forearm) is on track to throw a live batting practice session within the next two days, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. "Everything's tentative so now we got to build him back up," Baker said of Odorizzi. "He had a good [bullpen] session [Saturday], he'll probably throw to some hitters in a couple days and hopefully he'll go out on assignment. He came in a little behind already so we want to build him up this time and make sure he's ready to give us some length and won't go backwards."
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi is ready to move on to the next phase of his rehab program after he threw two sets of about 20 pitches apiece in an extended bullpen session Saturday. After he steps in to face hitters early this week, Odorizzi could be cleared for a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land over the weekend. Odorizzi, who is working back from a right pronator muscle strain, may need one or two outings in the minors before Houston is comfortable reinserting him into the big-league rotation.

Odorizzi (forearm) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi hit the injured list in late April but was never shut down for an extended period. He's still being treated cautiously, however, as he's expected to throw another bullpen session before heading out on a rehab assignment, where he could wind up making more than one start. That could potentially push his return date to late May.
