The Pirates signed Lamb to a minor-league contract Thursday with an invitation to major-league spring training, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb appeared in only 18 major-league games in 2023 but put up an .874 OPS in 85 games (357 plate appearances) between the Triple-A affiliates of the Yankees and Angels. The 33-year-old corner infielder owns a career .235/.326/.427 big-league batting line spread over parts of 10 seasons.

Lamb signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after slashing .317/.453/.492 across 150 plate appearances for Triple-A Salt Lake, but only .216/.259/.353 over 54 PAs with the Angels this season. The veteran utility player doesn't have a spot on the 40-man roster, and is likely only an option for a promotion in an emergency.

The Angels released Lamb on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb cleared waivers after the Angels designated him for assignment Friday, but rather than keeping the veteran corner infielder in the minor-league system, he'll be given the chance to pursue opportunities elsewhere. The 32-year-old posted a .945 OPS in 34 games at Triple-A Salt Lake this season but struggled in his more limited opportunity at the big-league level (.216/.259/.353 slash line over 54 plate appearances).

Lamb was designated for assignment by the Angels on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
It clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Victor Mederos, who joined the Angels' bullpen in a corresponding transaction. Lamb was optioned to Triple-A by the Angels in the middle of May, and the veteran infielder/outfielder will now hit the waiver wire.

Lamb was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb was playing only sporadically for the team and hadn't started in the last four games. He had a clause in his contract that allowed him to be optioned within 45 days of the start of the regular season, so the team was facing a decision on Lamb's status in the coming days. The corresponding move is currently unclear.

Lamb hit a solo home run in his only at-bat in Wednesday's win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb was summoned off the bench with the Angels down a run in the top of the ninth inning, and he came through with a 434-foot solo blast that tied the score. It was the second homer in as many games for the journeyman, who didn't go deep in any of his first 14 contests this season. Lamb is playing first base and batting fifth against the Cardinals on Thursday, and he could start to see more opportunities if he can keep the power surge going.

Lamb went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-0 victory versus the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Lamb got the start at first base and hit out of the No. 8 hole. He produced the first run of the contest with a solo shot to right field in the second inning. It was the first long ball of the season for Lamb, who came to the Angels on a minor-league contract last December before making the Opening Day roster. He's logged 45 plate appearances on the campaign and is slashing .214/.267/.310.

Lamb will start at first base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Red Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Lamb is back in the lineup for the series finale with right-hander Brayan Bello on the hill for Boston, but the former may have lost his grip on a strong-side platoon role at first base. Lamb, who has slashed .172/.250/.207 through 32 plate appearances, was on the bench Saturday and Sunday, when the Red Sox also brought right-handers to the hill. Gio Urshela was recently moved off shortstop following the call-up of top prospect Zach Neto and looks as though he may have displaced Lamb as the Halos' preferred option at first base versus right-handed pitching. Urshela will shift over to the hot corner Monday, however, while Anthony Rendon gets a maintenance day.

Lamb is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
He'll take a seat for the third time in four games while Brandon Drury gets the nod at first base. Despite his recent lack of usage, the lefty-hitting Lamb still appears to be holding down the larger side of the platoon at first base, as all three of his absences have come when the Angels have opposed southpaws.

Lamb is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
With a southpaw (Yusei Kikuchi) taking the hill for Toronto, the lefty-hitting Lamb will hit the bench after a string of five consecutive starts, during which he went 2-for-18 with a double, a walk and two runs. Brandon Drury will check in for Lamb at first base.
