Ellsbury with 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Labor Day's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
After Brett Gardner singled to lead off the bottom of the first, Ellsbury parked one over the right-field wall to give New York a 2-1 lead. According to Statcast, Ellsbury's seventh home run of the season traveled a projected 351 feet and left the bat at 91 mph. He added an RBI single in the third to up his RBI total to 49 for the season. Two of the outfielder's three hits came off Jays' starter R.A. Dickey, lifting Ellsbury's lifetime average against the knuckleballer to .306 (11-for-36).

Ellsbury is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
With the Yankees playing a day game after a night game and facing a lefty starter in Wade Miley, manager Joe Girardi decided it was an opportune time to rest Ellsbury. The veteran center fielder has been a disappointment in the second half of the season, batting .240 with only two homers and two stolen bases, but he's still in line to see the bulk of the starts at the position in September.

EDGE Analysis
After starting the first two games of the series, Ellsbury will get a regular day off in favor of Aaron Hicks in center field. The veteran will likely look to build on a four game hitting streak in Monday's series opener against the Royals.

Ellsbury was held out of Wednesday's lineup with a sore foot, Doug Miller of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellsbury fouled a ball off his right foot in Tuesday's game and was able to stay in for the remainder of the contest, but manager Joe Girardi decided to hold him out Wednesday for precautionary reasons. It sounds as though the ailment is not overly serious and the team has a scheduled off day Thursday, so Ellsbury could be back in the lineup for Friday's tilt against the Orioles.

Ellsbury is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.
EDGE Analysis
It appears to be just a standard day off for Ellsbury, as the Yankees may be factoring in the day game following Tuesday's night game as a reason to give the veteran some rest. Aaron Hicks will start in center field and hit seventh despite the fact that the Mariners are sending a righty, Hisashi Iwakuma, to the mound.

Ellsbury homered, scored twice and drove in two runs in a win Tuesday over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Ellsbury has now homered twice in his past five games. This power surge follows a stretch in which he went 116 at-bats without a home run and hit just .224/.272/.267 from July 15 through August 16. Unfortunately, that has been the Ellsbury who has shown up for most of the year; he owns just a .262/.321/.368 batting line and six home runs on the season.

Ellsbury went 3-for-5 with his fifth home run of the season in Friday's win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
His lead-off long ball gave the Yankees a lead straight out of the gate, and that was ultimately all they would need, though they did tack on some insurance in the 7-0 win. Ellsbury drove in a pair in the win -- also hitting a run-scoring single in the third inning -- and the home run was his first since July 10. After a disappointing couple of months, the 32-year-old is hitting for a solid .286/.333./.397 line in August.

Ellsbury is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
It looks to be nothing more than a scheduled day off for Ellsbury, who's started the last three games in center field. With Brett Gardner returning to the lineup in left field, it will be Aaron Hicks who gets the nod in center, while Aaron Judge starts in right.
