Dozier is hitting with a combined .306 batting average and 21 home runs between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha this season.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier was the Royals' 1st round pick in 2013 and struggled after making the transition to Double-A in 2014. In his third try at Double-A earlier this season, he was able to hit eight home runs in 110 plate appearances. He then advanced to Triple-A after Cheslor Cuthbert was promoted to the majors when Mike Moustakas (knee) was lost for the season. The Royals have noticed the potential logjam at third base and have been playing Dozier in the outfield of late, however

Dozier is hitting .538 (21-39) over the past 10 games for Triple-A Omaha.
EDGE Analysis
During this stretch, Dozier has only struck out three times, which is a great sign for a player who whiffed 151 times for Double-A Northwest Arkansas in 2015. Dozier, a former top prospect in the Royals system, was challenged by the organization to simplify his approach this season at Triple-A. It's paid off in a big way as Dozier is hitting .341/.392/,550 in 220 at bats for Omaha. The 24-year-old third baseman is knocking on the door for a promotion to the big leagues for the first time in his career.

Dozier is hitting .371 over his past 10 games at Triple-A Omaha. Between Double-A and Triple-A so far this season, Dozier is hitting .295 with 15 home runs and 43 RBI.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier seems to be adjusting to Triple-A pitching well as he's really found a grove for Omaha the past couple of weeks, raising his average from .265 to .288. The eighth overall pick in the 2013 draft has taken longer than the Royals had hoped to develop, but it looks like things are really starting to click for the 24-year-old third baseman.

Dozier, 25, is batting .341 with four home runs and 11 RBI over his last 10 games for Triple-A Omaha.
EDGE Analysis
Of note, Mike Moustakas tore his ACL and will likely miss the remainder of the season. However, the Royals also have Cheslor Cuthbert to fill the slot vacated by Moustakas. Nevertheless, the injury suddenly makes Dozier a player to watch, particularly if Cuthbert struggles.

Dozier was promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday after a posting a .305/.400/.642 slash line with eight home runs in 26 games at Double-A.
EDGE Analysis
He might be something of a forgotten man in the Royals' system, as he played 218 games at Double-A before finally earning a promotion to Triple-A. Dozier has always had plus raw power, but getting that power into games had proved difficult prior to this year, but he seems to have figured some things out. He'll turn 25 in August, so the bar to clear to impress dynasty league owners should remain high, but Dozier has proven early on that he is still a prospect worth following.

Dozier is slashing .220/.305/.333 with three home runs and two steals in 190 plate appearances with Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
Dating back to last year Dozier now has a .214 average with seven home runs and five steals in 110 games at Double-A, so he clearly has some work to do at that level. The 23-year-old third baseman has a lot of trouble with breaking balls off the plate, and while his plus power is evident in batting practice, the flaws in his approach have prevented that power from showing itself in games. Dozier has a 31.1 percent K-rate so far this season, and without some significant improvements this summer, he could be headed back to Northwest Arkansas in 2016.
