SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that there is a "strong belief" that Hiroki Kuroda would not approve a deal to the Tigers or Indians and is still "iffy" on going to the Yankees or Red Sox.
Kuroda wants to stay on the West Coast and closer to his family, but some have felt he'd be willing to go to the East Coast for just a couple months. It sounds like that's far from a slam dunk, though, and it appears he'll only go to a team he thinks will definitely make the playoffs.

FOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that Hiroki Kuroda could carry draft pick compensation this offseason.
Under normal circumstances, players with four years of major-league service time are eligible for salary arbitration, not free agency. However, Morosi has learned that Kuroda's contract stipulates that he will be eligible for Article XX(B) free agency this offseason. This means that his team can offer salary arbitration and net a compensatory draft pick if he declines and signs elsewhere. The Japanese right-hander currently projects to be a Type B free agent.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees remain in regular contact with the Dodgers about Hiroki Kuroda.
The Yankees are uncomfortable with the high price tag attached to Ubaldo Jimenez, but because of the uncertainty in their starting rotation, they are "reviewing all options." Kuroda is comfortable in Los Angeles and told AJ Cassavell of MLB.com following Wednesday's game (through a translator) that he "can't fathom wearing another uniform." It's not yet clear if he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to pitch for a contender.

Hiroki Kuroda pitched six innings of one-run ball Wednesday in a loss to the Rockies.
He struck out six and walked three. It was a solid performance from a player that might have just made his last start in a Dodgers uniform. The Yankees, Tigers, Red Sox, Rangers and Indians are all reportedly interested in the right-hander. He'd be a nice upgrade for any of those clubs, with a 3.11, 1.23 WHIP and 103/36 K/BB rate over 133 innings.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi report that the Yankees have "intensified" their pursuit of Hiroki Kuroda.
The Tigers, who have had a longstanding interest in Kuroda, are also in the mix, along with the Red Sox, Rangers and Indians. There is a question about whether Kuroda will be willing to waive his no-trade clause to go to an East Coast team, but recent indications are that he'd approve the move on a short-term basis.

According to Andrew Marchand of ESPNNewYork.com, Hiroki Kuroda would consider waiving his no-trade clause to join the Yankees or Red Sox.
We have heard some rumblings that Kuroda would prefer not to pitch on the East Coast, though Jon Heyman of SI.com recently reported that the Japanese right-hander would be willing to waive his no-trade on a "case-by-case basis." While New York and Boston are possibilities, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com notes that the "hottest teams" for Kuroda are the Tigers, Indians and Rangers.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that the Red Sox are "keeping tabs" on Hiroki Kuroda, but there's "nothing serious" being discussed between them and the Dodgers right now.
The Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Indians and Rangers have all expressed at least some degree of interest in Kuroda, but the problem is that he prefers not to play on the east coast farther away from his family. SI.com's Jon Heyman previously reported that Kuroda may be willing to waive his full no-trade clause "on a case-by-case basis."

According to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman, Hiroki Kuroda may be willing to waive his full no-trade clause "on a case-by-case basis."
The word has been out that Kuroda would prefer not to be dealt to the East Coast, though it sounds like he could be amenable to it if the right situation arose. According to Heyman, the Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Indians and Rangers have all expressed at least some degree of interest in the Dodgers righty.

According to MLB Network's Peter Gammons, the feeling amongst some front offices is that Hiroki Kuroda would prefer not to be traded to the East Coast.
That's important in this case since Kuroda has a full no-trade clause. The Yankees, Red Sox and Pirates are among some of the eastern teams that could be interested in the Dodgers righty, who has a 3.06 ERA and 1.22 WHIP through his first 114 2/3 innings this season.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings of work on Wednesday evening, falling to 6-10 in the Dodgers' 5-3 loss to the Mets.
He struck out two and walked one. A complacent performance from a player that could be in his final few weeks in a Dodgers uniform. The owner of a 3.06 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, Kuroda should get the Diamondbacks in Arizona in his first post All-Star break outing.
