Bader's contract was purchased from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday, David Solomon of 550 KTRS reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dexter Fowler is headed to the DL with a wrist strain, which opens up an opportunity for Bader to get regular at-bats with the big-league club. He has a .297/.354/.517 slash line with 19 home runs and nine steals (on 15 attempts) in 381 plate appearances, so it's easy to get excited about his fantasy potential. Bader does the bulk of his damage against lefties, against whom he has a 1.358 OPS, versus a .744 mark against righties. This makes him an immediate option against southpaws in daily leagues, but it would not be surprising if he had some struggles against same-handed pitching in his first stint with the big-league club.

Bader, 23, is slashing .298/.355/.519 over 380 plate appearances with Triple-A Memphis this season.
EDGE Analysis
Bader's slugging percentage leads all players currently on the Memphis roster, but his standing as a non-40-man-roster player could make it difficult for him to receive a promotion to the big club this season. It's probably for the best for Bader to continue to pick up regular at-bats at Triple-A, since the Cardinals don't have an immediate need for outfield help at the big-league level with Dexter Fowler, Stephen Piscotty, Randal Grichuk, Tommy Pham, Magneuris Sierra and Jose Martinez giving the team plenty of production this season.

Bader is hitting .351 with four home runs, six RB and seven runs over his last 10 games with Triple-A Memphis.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old outfielder now has 26 extra-base hits on the season overall, and he's homered in two straight games and three of the last five overall. Bader's notable progress at the plate in his second season against Triple-A pitching could certainly put him in line for a call-up later in the campaign.

Bader is now slashing .298/.369/.470 with eight doubles, six home runs and 14 RBI over 43 games with Triple-A Memphis.
EDGE Analysis
Bader has a pair of four-hit games in the last five contests and has picked it up significantly since a slow start that had his average at just .219 after 10 games. The promising outfielder's current level of play is much closer to what he flashed during spring training, when he hit .346 over 57 plate appearances. Bader is clearly benefiting from his second go-around against Triple-A pitching after slashing just .231/.298/.354 over 161 plate appearances with the Redbirds last season.

Bader is slashing .219/.359/.469 over 39 plate appearances across his first 10 games with Triple-A Memphis this season.
EDGE Analysis
The Redbirds' starting centerfielder has four extra-base hits in the form of a pair of doubles and two home runs, while also drawing five walks and scoring eight runs. Bader knocked the cover off the ball this spring with the Cardinals, hitting .346 over 57 plate appearances, but he's yet to hit his stride at Memphis. Bader similarly struggled during a 161-plate appearance stint with the Redbirds last season (.231/.298/.354), so he still has plenty of work to do before any thoughts of another move up the ladder are seriously contemplated.

Following an excellent spring, Bader will be the starting center fielder for Triple-A Memphis in the majority of games this season, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "I still think that was probably where it was headed," general manager John Mozeliak said of Bader being the Redbirds' starting center fielder. "Clearly when you have that type of performance you continue to open up more eyes. When you get to see a player like that day in and day out that also helps embolden how you think about it."
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old hit .346 and blasted a pair of home runs for the Cardinals over 57 plate appearances this spring and he'll see an abundance of opportunity to continue his development in 2017. Bader will start over Tommy Pham in the majority of games in center, but he'll also spend time at the corner outfield spots so as to be optimally prepared for any potential opening at the big-league level.

Bader was reassigned to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old prospect wrapped up spring with a stellar .346 average that partly consisted of two doubles, a triple, two home runs and seven RBI over 57 plate appearances. Bader currently projects as the Cardinals' No. 9 prospect and has experienced a meteoric rise through the organization, having progressed from Low-A Peoria to Triple-A Memphis over his first two seasons.

Bader went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and solo home run in Wednesday's 9-3 Grapefruit League win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Bader has been one of the pleasant surprises of spring, as he's now hitting .381 with a double, triple, two homers, seven RBI and one walk over 21 spring at-bats. The No. 9-ranked prospect is making a strong impression against big league pitching after a so-so 161-plate appearance sample at Triple-A Memphis last season, a development which could portend a much better season in 2017.

Bader went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring single, bases-loaded triple, one run and one walk in Sunday's 14-11 Grapefruit League victory over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The promising prospect boosted his spring average to .313 with the spectacular afternoon. Bader cleared the bases in the third by lacing a three-bagger to deep center, plating Jose Martinez, Tommy Pham and Greg Garcia and giving the Cardinals a 7-1 lead at the time. He brought Martinez home again in the fifth with a single, his fifth RBI in six spring games overall. The 22-year-old, St. Louis' No. 9 prospect, is gaining some valuable exposure to major league pitching before heading down to Triple-A Memphis to kick off the 2017 regular season.
