Castro will start at third base and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
With Jeimer Candelario (shoulder) moving to the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Castro looks like he'll get the first crack to replace him as the everyday third baseman. The versatile Castro had already picked up work at three different positions (left field, first base and shortstop) while staring in five of the Tigers' previous six games, but Candelario's absence creates a more permanent pathway to playing time.

With Jeimer Candelario (shoulder) potentially headed to the injured list Tuesday, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News, Castro could see more regular time at third base.
EDGE Analysis
Castro has been a valuable utility player for the Tigers this season with a .286/.303/.476 slash line across 34 games while appearing at every position except for catcher and right field, but the team may need him to settle in a bit more at the hot corner if Candelario has to miss time. Kody Clemens is also an option to see more time at third in the short term if needed.

Castro is starting at first base and batting third in Saturday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Spencer Torkelson is getting the day game off, so Castro will slide into the hole at first base. The versatile 28-year-old has played well this season with a .303/.320/.505 slash line across 32 games, so the Tigers will likely try to keep fitting him into the lineup whenever they can.

Castro went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
While he doesn't have a regular position, Castro has been playing fairly often lately, and his bat keeps making that a smart call. He's now batting .315 this season, and considering he batted .283 or better each of the past four years, his current rate seems sustainable. Castro doesn't offer a ton of power or speed, but he should have some fantasy value as long as the playing time is there.

Castro is out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
After starting each of the Tigers' past three games while going a collective 4-for-12 at the dish, Castro will take a seat as the Tigers roll out an all-righty-hitting lineup to counter Twins southpaw Devin Smeltzer. Castro doesn't have a clear path to an everyday role at any position at the moment, but his .836 OPS over 86 plate appearances has given him a compelling case to earn more work in a Tigers offense that has struggled mightily for much of the season.

Castro went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 8-1 loss to the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Castro was one of two Tigers to post multiple hits, and he was the only one with an extra-base knock in the contest. The 28-year-old infielder has three multi-hit games in his last seven. For the season, he's maintained a solid .325/.338/.519 slash line with three home runs, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, a triple and four doubles in 80 plate appearances. He's yet to attempt a stolen base.

Castro went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Wednesday's win over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Castro entered the contest with just one home run this season across 24 games, and he only had three long balls in 106 games last year, so the power outburst was definitely unexpected. The three-hit effort wasn't as rare, however, as the utility man did that as recently as May 15. Castro is now batting .301 for the season, and while the power won't always be there, he's certainly proven himself to be a capable hitter at the MLB level.

Castro is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Castro started at third base in the team's last game Wednesday, with Jeimer Candelario serving as the DH and Miguel Cabrera getting the day off. Cabrera is returning Friday, so Candelario shifts back to the hot corner and Castro will hit the bench. The latter is batting a robust .292, but he'll need more regular playing time to really make a significant fantasy impact.

Castro went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's win over the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The home run, Castro's first of the season, came at a great time, as it put the Tigers ahead 3-2 in the top of the ninth inning. The utility player is a solid contact hitter, as evidenced by his .306 batting average, but he's never provided much pop. Castro's career high for home runs in a season is five, which he recorded back in 2019. He had just three long balls in 106 games last year.

Castro is starting at third base and batting seventh in Sunday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Jeimer Candelario is getting the day off, so Castro will make his third start of the week and first since Thursday. The versatile 28-year-old is slashing .278/.298/.333 this season across 54 at-bats. He's proven himself as a good contact hitter at the MLB level, though Castro typically doesn't deliver much in the way of counting stats. He has no home runs, three RBI and six runs scored this year.
