Castro went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Castro may not have a regular, everyday position with the Tigers, but the 27-year-old continues to hit when given a chance. He batted .300 in 2018, albeit in just six games, then followed that up by hitting .291 in 2019 and .347 during the condensed 2020 slate. This season, Castro is now batting .281 after the three-hit effort. He doesn't offer a ton of extra-base power and profiles as more of a singles hitter, but he's capable of good stat lines when he strings a few hits together.

Castro is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Castro will take a seat with southpaw Cole Irvin on the hill for Oakland. Castro's platoon mate, Zack Short, will pick up the start at shortstop, but the former should continue to pick up the bulk of the work at the position until Niko Goodrum (groin) returns from the injured list.

Castro isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Castro went 1-for-4 with a run and two strikeouts Tuesday, and he'll retreat to the bench with left-hander Jon Lester taking the mound for St. Louis. Zack Short will start at shortstop and bat eighth.

Castro is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The Tigers are facing a left-handed starter (Steven Matz) for the fifth game in a row, with Castro having now sat on three occasions. The lefty-hitting Castro still looks to be occupying the strong side of a platoon at the position with Zack Short, who picks up his fourth consecutive start Sunday.

Castro is out of the lineup Friday against the Blue Jays, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Castro made three consecutive starts at shortstop prior to hitting the bench Thursday, and he'll remain out of the lineup for a second straight contest while mired in a 2-for-24 slump. Zack Short will work at shortstop in Friday's series opener in Toronto.

Castro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Willi Castro will step in at shortstop for Harold Castro, who started each of the past three games at the position while going 2-for-10 at the plate. Until the Tigers return outfielders Derek Hill (rib) and Akil Baddoo (concussion) from the 10-day injured list -- which will likely result in Willi Castro moving back to the infield -- Harold Castro should have a path to a near-everyday role.

Castro went 1-for-3 with a single in Sunday's 11-0 loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Castro's line wasn't anything remarkable, but his eighth inning single ended Triston McKenzie's perfect game bid after 23 straight outs and ended up being Detroit's only hit of the afternoon. Castro has been a consistently solid contact hitter for the Tigers, as he's batting .272 this season after hitting .347 last year and .291 in 2019, so it's not too surprising that he was the one to spoil the chance at history. The 27-year-old has been seeing regular work at shortstop recently with Niko Goodrum (groin) on the injured list.

Castro will start at shortstop and bat sixth Sunday against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Castro is picking up his third start in four games and could be in store for a near-everyday role at shortstop while the Tigers wait for Niko Goodrum (groin) to return from the injured list. Dating back to the All-Star break, Castro hasn't provided much of an impact at the dish, posting a .519 OPS with seven runs and four RBI in 19 games.

Castro is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
After starting four consecutive games heading into the weekend, Castro has now been on the bench for two of the Tigers' three games in Kansas City this weekend. Willi Castro looks set to serve as the Tigers' regular second baseman while Niko Goodrum (calf) and Isaac Paredes (hip) are on the shelf, resulting in Harold Castro serving as more of a utility man.

Castro will start at first base and bat sixth Thursday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Castro will receive his fourth start in a row after going 6-for-9 with a double, a walk, three runs and two RBI across the Tigers' previous three contests. Though he'll be filling in for a resting Miguel Cabrera on Thursday, Castro could be an option to step in as Detroit's primary second baseman after Isaac Paredes (hip) joined Niko Goodrum (calf) on the 10-day injured list ahead of the series finale with Texas.
