Hernandez batted eighth and went 2-for-6 with an RBI in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has been inexplicably moved to eighth in batting order since returning from his minor rib injury, despite going 5-for-15 over that four-game span. The 30-year-old has produced a late-career breakout with a .289/.339/.453 slash line this season, and he hasn't shown any signs of slowing up, which makes his significant demotion in the batting order a bit puzzling. Hernandez will see his run-scoring potential dwindle for as long as he bats eighth, but he is still doing enough to warrant fantasy consideration in an everyday role.

Hernandez (ribs) went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and a pair of runs scored in Monday's 7-5 loss to Miami.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez was forced to miss Sunday's contest after getting hit by a pitch in the ribs Saturday. The minor injury didn't have an effect on the 30-year-old's surprising breakout, as he was able to reach base four times. Hernandez and his .293/.344/.469 slash line will continue to serve as the Giants' primary leadoff hitter and everyday center fielder.

Hernandez (ribs) is starting in center field and leading off Monday against the Marlins, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has been cleared to rejoin the Giants' starting lineup after sitting out Sunday's series finale with bruised ribs. The 30-year-old, who is hitting a solid .285/.329/.465 through 54 games this season, will face left-hander Wei-Yin Chen in his return to action.

Hernandez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez will receive a breather against Max Scherzer and the Nationals after being hit by a pitch in the ribs during Saturday's contest. Austin Jackson will man center field in his stead.

Hernandez is sore after being hit by a pitch in the ribs Saturday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez squared to bunt in the eighth inning which left him exposed to a 91-mph sinker from Brandon Kintzler that caught him squarely on the left side of his chest. The 30-year-old is sore but appears to have avoided significant damage, and should be considered day-to-day.

Hernandez is out of the lineup versus the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Chris Haft of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez will receive a rare day off, taking a seat for the first time since the middle of May. After a hot stretch during the club's extended road trip, Hernandez has hit just 3-for-25 (.120 average) with nine strikeouts during his past seven contests. In his place, Austin Jackson will draw a start in center field.

Hernandez will start in center field and bat eighth Sunday against the Phillies, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez finished May with a .325 average and five home runs and served as the Giants' leadoff man for all but one of the club's final 12 games of the month, but he has since surrendered the table-setting role to Joe Panik (thumb), who was reinstated from the disabled list Friday. While it appears he'll retain an everyday role in the outfield over the likes of Austin Jackson and a now-healthy Hunter Pence, Hernandez's precipitous drop in the batting order will almost certainly hinder his run production.

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and a pair of runs scored in Monday's loss to Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has been unconscious at the plate recently, slashing .425/.442/.850 with four homers over his current 10-game hit streak. The 30-year-old has played himself into the Giants' starting center field job as well as serving as the club's primary leadoff hitter. Hernandez has never shown this sort of hitting ability at any point during his career, but fantasy owners shouldn't question the production and ride out his unexpected hot streak.

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's loss to the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The homer was his third in his last six games and fifth of the season. Hernandez was starting in center field in this one and batting atop the order for the fourth consecutive game. It seems likely that he will continue to play regularly given Austin Jackson's struggles against right-handed pitching (.204/.286/.286).

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Hernandez has been on fire over his last six games, going 8-for-22 with four extra-base hits, four RBI and four runs scored over that span. The 30-year-old has played himself into everyday at-bats after spending most of the campaign in a platoon/fourth outfielder role. With Mac Williamson (concussion) possibly returning for this weekend's series against the Cubs to man left field, Hernandez appears to be locked in as the club's primary option in center.
