Evan Gattis delivered a go-ahead, pinch-hit two-run homer in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Pirates.
"El Oso Blanco" strikes again. Gattis put the Braves ahead in the top of the eighth inning by turning on a pitch for Jared Hughes and dropping it just inside the left field foul pole. The 26-year-old now has five home runs over his first 43 at-bats in the majors. It may be hard for him to find at-bats once Brian McCann returns from shoulder surgery, but those in deeper mixed leagues should keep him active for now.

Evan Gattis clubbed a two-run homer in a win over the Nationals on Saturday.
Gattis turned on a high 96 mph fastball from Stephen Strasburg and deposited it into the left field stands. Pretty impressive. The 26-year-old is now hitting .333 (10-for-30) with four homers, one double and eight RBI through his first eight major league games. He could struggle to find at-bats once Brian McCann (shoulder) returns, but ride the wave in deeper mixed leagues.

Evan Gattis is starting at first base in Friday's game against the Nationals.
Gattis only has seven games of professional experience at the position, but the Braves want to squeeze his bat into the lineup. Gerald Laird is getting the start behind the plate, while Chris Johnson is at third base.

Evan Gattis went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Braves' win over the Marlins on Tuesday.
Gattis also doubled off starter Wade LeBlanc and is hitting .368 on the year. Manager Fredi Gonzalez seems to like Gattis' bat, as the 26-year-old batted cleanup on Tuesday. He'll likely get the lion's share of at-bats while Brian McCann remains out, and when he's hitting like this he's worth a look in deep mixed leagues.

Evan Gattis will bat cleanup for the second straight day Monday.
It's an interesting trend given Gattis' inexperience, but Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez is trying to be creative with Freddie Freeman (oblique) on the disabled list. Gattis is splitting catching duties with Gerald Laird right now, but he makes for a good pickup in NL-only and two-catcher mixed formats.

Evan Gattis is expected to make his major league debut Wednesday against the Phillies and catch Paul Maholm.
Gattis is expected to split catching duties with Gerald Laird until Brian McCann (shoulder) is ready to return. The 26-year-old has legitimate pop, so he's worth a shot-term investment in NL-only fantasy leagues.
