Fedde tossed two scoreless innings Sunday in the Nationals' 12-2 Grapefruit League win over the Cardinals. He gave up one hit and struck out three in the start.
EDGE Analysis
Per Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post, Fedde reported to camp at 203 pounds, about 20 above his listed weight from 2018. Fedde bulked on the advice of the Nationals' training staff, who believe the added weight will help the right-hander avoid the durability woes that had plagued him over the past two seasons. For at least his spring debut, the physical change paid off, but Fedde still is considered likely to open the season at Triple-A Fresno rather than unseating Jeremy Hellickson as the Nationals' fifth starter.

Fedde is not the favorite for the Nationals' fifth starter role and will likely open in the minors, Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde is behind Jeremy Hellickson in the job battle, which makes sense as the veteran's 3.45 ERA last season far outpaced Fedde's 5.54 mark. Fedde could still crack the roster as a long reliever but is more likely to open in the rotation at Triple-A Fresno.

Fedde allowed three runs on five hits and four walks across 3.1 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Mets. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde endured a bumpy first inning in which he allowed two hits, a walk and a stolen base but was able to escape with just one run across. He then ran into trouble in the fourth inning, when he put two runners on with no outs and watched as both later scored against the bullpen. Fedde has struggled over his last two starts, allowing five earned runs across 7.2 innings while posting an 8:8 K:BB. His ERA now sits at a disappointing 5.24 for the season and he's scheduled to make his final start Saturday against the Rockies.

Fedde allowed two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out six over 4.1 innings Monday against the Marlins. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde cruised through the first four innings of his outing before giving up a two-run double to Starlin Castro in the fifth. Fedde ran into trouble with his pitch count, issuing a season-high four walks and tossing an alarming 93 pitches through 4.1 innings. Over nine starts this season, he owns a 5.02 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 41 punchouts across 43 frames.

Fedde (2-3) earned the win against the Phillies on Tuesday, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out nine over 5.2 shutout innings.
EDGE Analysis
It was by far Fedde's best start of the season with the nine strikeouts being a season high, while he also induced seven ground-ball outs compared to one fly-ball out. The 25-year-old has a 5.12 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 38.2 innings this season and currently lines up to start Monday at Miami.

Fedde will start the first game of the Nationals' doubleheader Tuesday in Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
After returning from the 60-day disabled list to start Sept. 4 against the Cardinals, Fedde was expected to make his next turn over the weekend, but back-to-back rainouts pushed him to Tuesday on the Nationals' pitching schedule. While Fedde could still theoretically line up for a two-start week with a second turn potentially coming Sunday in Atlanta, it's more likely the Nationals will turn to veteran Tanner Roark, who will start the second game of Tuesday's twin bill, for that contest. Fedde looks likely to retain a rotation spot through the end of the season, but his 6.00 ERA and 1.58 WHIP over seven starts hardly make him a trustworthy fantasy option.

Fedde will have his start pushed to Monday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde was originally scheduled to start Sunday against the Cubs, but the game was postponed to Thursday. To keep the rotation in line, the young right-hander will simply bump up a day to pitch Monday against the Phillies. He'll face off with Jake Arrieta in the series opener.

Fedde (shoulder) was activated from the disabled list and will start Tuesday against the Cardinals, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
He suffered the shoulder injury on July 4 and gave up four runs while striking out 13 in 14.2 innings across three rehab starts. Fedde technically still qualifies as a prospect (43.1 MLB innings) but he turns 26 this offseason and will likely exhaust his prospect status this month. He has a 7.06 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 34 strikeouts in nine big-league starts, but his 4.00 xFIP suggests he's been a bit unlucky over those outings.

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Fedde (shoulder) would be reinstated from the 60-day disabled list and start Tuesday against the Cardinals, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde is eligible to return from the DL on Monday, but it's unclear if the team will activate him on that day or wait until Tuesday to do so. In any event, he'll immediately re-enter the rotation to replace Gio Gonzalez, who was traded to the Brewers on Friday. Considering he worked six innings in his third rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse on Aug. 30, Fedde shouldn't face any restrictions with his pitch count upon returning to the Nationals.

Fedde (shoulder) struck out six over 4.2 innings in his second rehab start Saturday for Triple-A Syracuse. He gave up two runs on three hits and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
Fedde threw 42 of his 73 pitches for strikes in the outing and looks to be on the cusp of a return from the 60-day disabled list. Since the Nationals won't have a rotation spot waiting for Fedde with Jefry Rodriguez faring well lately as the club's No. 5 starter, the 25-year-old right-hander could be ticketed for long-relief duty once he's formally activated, likely in early September.
