Erick Aybar has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right big toe. He's wearing a walking boot, but the Angels are still considering him day-to-day for now. Dr. Lewis Yocum has yet to read the X-rays, though, and he could advise a DL stint. Aybar suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his foot Saturday. Maicer Izturis is getting a second straight start at shortstop Monday.

Erick Aybar was spotted wearing a walking boot on his injured right foot Monday. The Angels have yet to provide an update on his status, but there would seem to be a good chance that this means he'll need a DL stint. Aybar is dealing with a right big toe contusion that was the result of him fouling a ball off his foot Saturday.

The Angels have not yet decided if they will place Erick Aybar (toe contusion) on the disabled list. Aybar suffered the injury Saturday when he fouled a ball off his foot. He missed Sunday's game. Aybar will miss at least a few more games. If he'll require more time on the shelf, the Angels will place Aybar on the disabled list. Jean Segura was called up Sunday as insurance, but Maicer Izturis will be the club's starting shortstop until Aybar returns.

Erick Aybar smashed a solo home run off Ivan Nova, helping to power the Angels to a 10-8 victory over the Yankees in New York on Sunday. He finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Aybar launched the first inning pitch off Ivan Nova into the upper deck in right field. Aybar hit safely in all three games of the series, including another long ball on Friday night. After struggling well into June, Aybar has come alive over the past few weeks, hitting .369 (38-for-103) with four homers and 12 RBI over his last 28 games dating back to June 10.

Erick Aybar is not in the Angels' starting lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays. It's likely just an off-day, as Aybar played all nine innings Friday. Andrew Romine is starting at shortstop and batting eighth.

Erick Aybar is batting .315/.358/.461 over 24 games in June. Aybar put up equally awful OPS' in April and May of .530 and .535, respectively, but he's finally turned the corner with an .819 mark in June. But, while it's not surprising that he hasn't repeated the power he displayed last year, he's swiped just five bases this season after a career-high 30 thefts in 2011.

Erick Aybar received a pinch-hitting opportunity in Wednesday's extra-inning victory, flying out in the 10th inning. Aybar was hit in the right knee by a pitch on Tuesday, so he was out of the Angels' starting lineup for precautionary reasons. He should be fine for the upcoming series in Seattle.
