Eric Young, Jr. is not in Thursday's lineup against the Rockies. Young is the odd man out now that Juan Lagares is back from the disabled list. The Mets are using Chris Young, Lagares, and Curtis Granderson from left to right in the outfield with Juan Nicasio on the hill for Colorado.

Eric Young went 1-for-4 while stealing two more bases in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks. Young has been a thief on the basepaths to start the year, as he's now got nine steals without being caught. That mark is good for second in the National League. He also scored his league-leading 12th run in the game. There's no reason he shouldn't be in an everyday fantasy player right now.

Eric Young Jr. finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-0 blowout win over the Diamondbacks. Young has now reached safely in 11 straight games. He provides zero power -- he's collected two doubles, one triple, and zero homers thus far -- but wreaks havoc on the basepaths when he gets on. Young is currently second in the NL with seven steals, and he's fifth in the league with 11 runs scored. Monitor his playing time closely once Chris Young returns.

Eric Young Jr. scored four of the Mets' six runs Thursday after going 3-for-5 with a triple and three steals in the win over the Braves. This is why the Mets are playing Young; they picture him wreaking havoc in the leadoff spot and having games like this on a regular basis. Of course, going into tonight, he was hitting .154 with one run scored in seven games. Last year, he had a .310 OBP in 539 at-bats for the Rockies and Mets. Young will certainly have some fantasy value for as long as he's a primary starter for the Mets. However, it'd be for the best if he sits more often than not once Chris Young returns.

Eric Young Jr. is batting leadoff in the Mets' Opening Day lineup Monday against the Nationals. EY Jr. at leadoff will probably be a frequent look all season, but the Mets carried young center fielder Juan Lagares north with them after camp and will want him to get at least semi-regular playing time. Young's fantasy value is limited right now in weekly leagues.

Eric Young Jr. singled in three of his four at-bats Thursday against the Nationals. Young hit leadoff today in what could have been the Mets' Opening Day lineup. Still, it doesn't sound like the team has any intention of demoting Juan Lagares, so Young won't be a full-time player. That will probably prevent him from being worth playing in shallow mixed leagues.
