Rockies manager Jim Tracy said Wednesday that Eric Young Jr. will continue getting regular playing time. Michael Cuddyer is scheduled to return from the disabled list on Thursday but will play primarily at first base. "EY Jr." has hit .447/.480/.660 so far in the month of August and is worth a look in deeper mixed fantasy leagues while the hot streak lasts.

Eric Young Jr. went 2-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers. Leading off, Young smashed one off the center-field wall and was off to the races following a misplay by Matt Kemp. Young also took away a hit from Hanley Ramirez with an impressive diving catch in the seventh. With multi-hit nights in each of his past four starts, perhaps Young is finally catching manager Jim Tracy's attention.

Young has started four games in seven days after starting three in the previous month, and he's playing pretty well in his limited opportunities. If he continues to see semi-regular action, he could be a nice asset in fantasy leagues with his stolen base ability.

It was also his first home run of the season, and just his third extra-base hit. Young doesn't play enough to be worth a look outside of exceptionally deep NL-only leagues.

Rockies activated OF Eric Young Jr. from bereavement. Young missed 11 days following the death of his grandfather. He carries no value in fantasy leagues.

The Rockies will decide Wednesday whether to activate Eric Young, Jr. from the bereavement list. Young was placed on the bereavement list earlier this month after his grandfather passed away. He has spent the past few days in Arizona working on his conditioning. The speedy 26-year-old is hitting .286 (6-for-21) with four stolen bases and an .829 OPS in 21 games this season.
