White was recalled Friday from Triple-A Gwinnett.
EDGE Analysis
He'll replace Michael Harris, who is headed to the 10-day injured list with a lower back strain. White can help cover all three outfield spots for Atlanta, but he holds a weak .185/.260/.296 career batting line in 389 plate appearances at the major-league level. Sam Hilliard is in center field Friday versus the Padres.

Atlanta optioned White to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
White's demotion is a case of minor-league options working against a player, as he did everything he could this spring to win a job by turning in a 1.393 OPS with three home runs. The speedy utility player could wind up spending a good amount of time in the majors in 2023, even though he'll open the season in the minors.

White went 3-for-3 with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Getting the start in right field and batting eighth, White took Spenser Watkins deep in the third and fourth innings. The former Rangers outfielder got traded to Atlanta in the offseason to provide some roster depth, but the 28-year-old has designs of being more than that, going 10-for-23 this spring with six extra-base hits (two doubles, a triple and three homers) and a 3:3 BB:K. He still has plenty of competition for a bench spot on the 26-man roster, particularly from Jordan Luplow, but if White breaks camp on the Opening Day roster, he could see consistent action as a right-handed platoon partner for Eddie Rosario in left field as well as a late-game defensive replacement and pinch running option.

White (wrist/knee) was traded by the Rangers to Atlanta on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.
EDGE Analysis
After being designated for assignment by the Rangers on Friday, White will now have to try and carve a role for himself in Atlanta. The 28-year-old outfielder's season was cut short in mid-June due to wrist and knee injuries, though he wasn't very productive while healthy -- he slashed just .200/.274/.305 through 117 plate appearances. Given the underwhelming season Eddie Rosario had in 2022, it's possible he and White compete for time in left field.

White (wrist/knee) was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
White underwent wrist surgery in June and missed the rest of season after he experienced knee discomfort during his minor-league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old has played in 111 MLB games over the past two seasons and has a .185/.264/.307 slash line with 16 stolen bases and a 31.8 percent strikeout rate.

White has had his rehab assignment paused due to left knee discomfort and is expected to be shut down for the remainder of the season, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
White has been on the 60-day injured list since June after he underwent right wrist surgery, but he was cleared for game action in the minors last week. The 28-year-old is unlikely to rejoin the Rangers down the stretch following his setback, which is somewhat unsurprising since the team has been eliminated from postseason contention. It's not yet clear how White's knee injury will impact his offseason program.

White (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment in Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
White was placed on the 60-day injured list in June after he required surgery on his fractured right wrist. There is not yet a target return date in place, as it will likely depend on how he fares in the minors.

White (wrist) participated in live batting practice Thursday and Friday at the Rangers' spring training facility, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
White has been out with a broken wrist since mid-June. His recent progress gives him a good chance to return for a meaningful number of games before the end of the year, though he still has work to do. He's expected to begin a game progression next week.

The Rangers transferred White (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
After undergoing surgery on his right wrist June 14, White was already projected to miss 6-to-8 weeks before he was cleared to resume baseball activities, so the move to the 60-day IL shouldn't affect his timeline for being activated. The transaction temporarily removes White from the 40-man roster and opens up a spot for catcher Meibrys Viloria, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Round Rock.

White underwent surgery on his right wrist Tuesday in Arlington, Texas and is expected to remain sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks before resuming baseball activities, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
His surgery was overseen by Dr. Paul Hovis and involved the insertion of two screws into the distal radius bone in his right wrist. Since the 6-to-8-week timeline is a projection for when White will be able to resume baseball activities, he'll likely need at least an additional two weeks beyond that to regain conditioning and his timing at the plate before the Rangers are comfortable activating him from the IL. With that in mind, White appears unlikely to rejoin the Rangers until September.
