Fowler (hamstring) could return to the Cubs as early as this weekend's series against the Brewers in Milwaukee, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cubs GM Jedd Hoyer commented during a radio interview Thursday that Fowler still has to be evaluated, but if his hamstring checks out, he's expected to join the club in Milwaukee. It's unclear if he'd return to the lineup for the series-opener Friday, but at this point it looks as though he'll factor back into the mix sometime over the three-game set.

Fowler (hamstring) had the start of his rehab assignment pushed back a day as the Iowa Cubs were rained out on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Joe Maddon had said previously that he expected Fowler to make it back to the major league roster by the end of this week and one rainout is unlikely to force a change of plans, although the skipper acknowledged that he "didn't know exactly" when Fowler would be activated. The 30-year-old Fowler posted an OBP just south of .400 in 64 games before landing on the DL in mid-June and there's no doubt he will slot back in atop the batting order upon his return.

Fowler (hamstring) is headed to Triple-A Iowa on Monday to begin his rehab assignment Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a good sign for the Cubs as well as fantasy owners as it appears Fowler is close to being ready to rejoin the big league team. The 30-year-old was hitting .290/.398/.483 with seven home runs and 28 RBI and 41 runs through 64 games before suffering his hamstring injury.

Fowler (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment this week, MLB.com's Carrie Muskat reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler did some light running on the field Sunday, and apparently looked well enough for the team to begin considering his next steps. The Cubs are hopeful to have him back in their lineup by the end of next week, and if he gets out on a rehab assignment soon, that would be a realistic possibility. The leadoff job in Chicago has fluctuated a bit since his absence, so look for Fowler to return to hitting atop the order once he's ready.

Manager Joe Maddon hopes Fowler (hamstring) will return to the Cubs by the end of next week, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler went 0-for-2 with two walks in his single game at Low-A South Bend, but the expectation is that he'll resume his rehab assignment in the near future. While it's not definite that Fowler will be back by end of next week, Maddon is hopeful, as the Cubs have struggled since Fowler went down with his hamstring injury, having gone 7-15 in the games since.

Fowler (hamstring) will not resume his rehab assignment until next week at the earliest, Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler played in just one game after beginning a rehab assignment late last week, and it appears the Cubs still want to keep tabs on him for the time being, as he will be with the big league club in Chicago through the weekend. Assuming all goes well over the next few days, he should be able to get back into minor-league games next week, and will have a chance to rejoin the big league club before July comes to a close.

Fowler (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A South Bend on Friday, Patrick Mooney of CSNChicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fowler has been progressing smoothly from a hamstring strain he suffered in mid-June, completing lateral movement drills, outfield work, and base running, and is now set to begin the final hurdle in his rehab program. He'll head to Single-A South Bend now to acclimate himself to game action and is likely in line to return to the Cubs lineup immediately following the All-Star Break.

Fowler (hamstring) participated in running exercises before Thursday's Cubs' game, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After successfully running the bases Wednesday, Fowler showed continued progress by completing running drills in the outfield and infield with the Cubs athletic trainer on Thursday. Pending any setbacks, the 30-year-old should begin a rehab assignment by this weekend with a likely return to the majors following the All-Star Break.

The current plan is for Fowler (hamstring) to play in a couple rehab games later this week, then play in the All-Star game, then be activated from the DL after the break, ESPN Chicago's Jesse Rogers reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Fowler is not healthy enough to go on a rehab assignment by the weekend, he'll probably miss the All-Star game, but it sounds like the team wants to do right by Fowler's wishes to play in the midsummer classic. Either way, fantasy owners should be prepared to be without Fowler until July 15, which is the first game of the second half.

Fowler (hamstring) has been able to successfully run bases, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Fowler has felt fine when running bases, the club isn't certain that he'll be able to return for their upcoming series against the Pirates. According to Jesse Rogers of ESPNChicago.com, Fowler may be sent on a rehab assignment in the coming days.
