Yankees manager Joe Girardi said on Tuesday that Derek Jeter (ankle) is in a "holding pattern." A CT scan came back negative after Jeter aggravated his surgically-repaired left ankle on Saturday. GM Brian Cashman has ruled out shutting down Jeter for the remainder of the season. "We don't think that," Cashman said. "It's nothing like that. If it becomes that I'll tell you, but otherwise, we're more in a day-to-day mode," Cashman said. "The bottom line is his mobility was definitely becoming more limited with the pain he was receiving so we backed off, and when he's feeling better, we'll turn him loose again. If he was moving around and he was pain-free, he'd be back out there."

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that there has been no consideration given to shutting Derek Jeter (ankle) down. Jeter aggravated his surgically-repaired left ankle Saturday, but a CT scan came back negative and the Yankees are hoping he'll be OK in a few days. Given the nagging injury and Jeter's .190/.288/.254 batting line this season, it's safe to jump ship in fantasy leagues.

The CT scan taken Saturday on Derek Jeter's surgically-repaired left ankle turned up negative. But the scan's results will be sent to Dr. Robert Anderson -- Jeter's surgeon -- in Charlotte for a second look. Jeter has been experiencing soreness in his left ankle and had to be removed from Saturday's loss to Boston.

Derek Jeter is getting a CT scan on his left ankle. Jeter was lifted from Saturday's loss to the Red Sox after Yankees manager Joe Girardi noticed something wrong with the way he was moving. The veteran shortstop fractured his left ankle last October and could be sidelined for another extended period of time. Eduardo Nunez filled in at shortstop for New York on Saturday.

Derek Jeter left Saturday's game against the Red Sox with a left ankle issue. That's the ankle that he fractured last October. Jeter, 39, has appeared in only 17 games this season for New York and is looking at another extended absence. Eduardo Nunez moved from third base to shortstop and Mark Reynolds entered to man the hot corner.

Derek Jeter went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 9-1 win over the White Sox. Jeter drove in Brett Gardner with a single in the first inning and knocked in another run with an infield single in an eight-run fourth inning. The 39-year-old came into Monday's action hitless over his previous three games. We're not counting on his previous production, but he's still worth using in deeper mixed leagues.

Derek Jeter went 0-for-3 with a walk in his return to the Yankees' lineup on Monday. It was Jeter's first appearance since he aggravated his calf strain Aug. 2. It sounds like he'll probably be in the lineup again on Tuesday.

Derek Jeter (calf) will bat second and play shortstop in his return from the disabled list Tuesday against the Blue Jays. This will be Jeter's first game action since August 2 due to a strained right calf. The 39-year-old has been limited to just five games this season, but the Yankees are hopeful he'll be able to make an impact as they attempt to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Yankees activated SS Derek Jeter from the 15-day disabled list. Jeter missed three weeks with a calf strain. He has appeared in only five games this season but is worth rostering in most standard fantasy leagues when healthy. The veteran shortstop was 3-for-9 with a double and a walk on his three-game minor league rehab assignment.

Derek Jeter (calf) confirmed that he'll rejoin the Yankees on Monday. Jeter played seven innings at shortstop Friday and will remain on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for one more game. The Yankees plan to activate him for their upcoming series against Toronto.
