David Ross had a huge day at the plate Friday against the Astros, going 4-for-4 with two homers and three runs scored. Ross delivered solo homers in the second and fourth innings. With the four-hit night, he raised his batting average from .120 to .241 for the season. The 36-year-old backstop will get the majority of his playing time against southpaws, but he offers enough pop to have value in AL-only formats.

Red Sox signed C David Ross to a two-year, $6.2 million contract. The deal was reported last weekend and has now become official after Ross passed a physical. The 35-year-old batted .256/.321/.449 with nine home runs in 196 plate appearances with the Braves this season. He won't play every day in Boston but should certainly see more starts than he did in Atlanta.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees "long have had interest" in free agent David Ross. New York is expected to work something out this winter with Russell Martin, but Ross could be brought on as a reliable backup. The 35-year-old hit .256/.321/.449 with nine home runs in 196 plate appearances this season for Atlanta. The Braves are hoping they can re-sign him.

According to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Braves are interested in re-signing David Ross. The Braves have already contacted Ross' agent to express their interest. Meanwhile, the veteran backstop has already said that he wants to return. Of course, it's possible another team could blow him away with a significant offer and/or a promise of regular playing time. Ross, who turns 36 next March, batted .256/.321/.449 with nine homers and a .770 OPS in 196 plate appearances this year.

David Ross, given the start at catcher over Brian McCann, blasted a two-run homer in Friday's loss to the Cardinals. Ross finished the night 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI. He even used his blazing speed to beat out a bunt single in the game. Widely regarded as one of the finest backup catchers in the game offensively, Ross carried more than his share of the weight in this one.
