David Ross is scheduled for another appointment with a concussion specialist on Wednesday. Ross was placed on the disabled list one month ago after suffering his second concussion of the season. The veteran backstop will rejoin the Red Sox on Thursday, but since he's on the 60-day disabled list, he's not eligible to be activated until August 17 at the earliest.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said Wednesday that David Ross (concussion) has "had three or four really good days consecutively here." Ross is with his family in Florida but has been able to exercise on an elliptical and stationary bike and also do some throwing. "He's still got next Tuesday as a follow up with Dr. Collins in Pittsburgh," Farrell said. "His scheduled return for us is undecided right now."

David Ross' agent, Ryan Gleichowski, expects his client to return this season. Ross is currently is shutdown mode after suffering his second concussion within a month's time. The veteran backstop is scheduled for a follow-up with a specialist on July 9 and hopes to progress from there. The Red Sox moved him to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, so he's not eligible to return until August 17 at the earliest.

Red Sox transferred C David Ross from the 7-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. The move clears a spot for Brandon Snyder on the 40-man roster. Ross is sidelined indefinitely due to his second concussion of the season and now won't be eligible to return until around mid-August.

David Ross has been diagnosed with another concussion. Ross was placed on the 7-day disabled list earlier this week due to recurring symptoms. He'll be shut down until going for more tests in early July. Ryan Lavarnway will serve as Jarrod Saltalamacchia's backup for now.

David Ross will visit concussion specialist Dr. Mickey Collins on Thursday in Pittsburgh. Ross has been bothered by post-concussion symptoms since mid-May and was officially placed back on the disabled list on Tuesday night. He is out indefinitely.
