EDGE Analysis
Robertson tossed a scoreless relief inning against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, and he'll begin Friday's series opener on the mound for the Rays. Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough is expected to serve as the primary pitcher.

Robertson was charged with a blown save in Sunday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits while recording a strikeout over one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Entrusted with a 5-2 lead when he entered in the eighth inning, Robertson faltered immediately by allowing the first four batters he faced to reach safely, a stretch that culminated in Miguel Cabrera's two-run single. Robertson would go on to yield the tying run with the aid of a Brett Phillips throwing error, saddling the 36-year-old with his first blown save of the season. Having been robbed of most of the last two seasons by injury, Robertson's stint with the Rays had started promisingly enough prior to Sunday with three scoreless one-inning outings and an 8:2 K:BB in four trips to the mound.

Robertson was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robertson signed a minor-league deal with the Rays on Aug. 16, and he struck out 12 in six scoreless innings across six relief appearances at Triple-A Durham. The right-hander will now be available to make his first major-league appearance since 2019 after he worked his way back from Tommy John surgery. While Robertson will likely serve as a low-leverage reliever early on, he could be in consideration for some high-leverage chances if he continues to perform well.

Robertson has been added to Tampa Bay's taxi squad and is expected to be called up from Triple-A Durham when rosters expand to 28 players Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robertson inked a minor-league contract with the Rays on Aug. 16. Tommy John surgery limited the veteran right-hander to just seven major-league innings since the beginning of 2019, but his excellent track record still makes him an intriguing addition to an already strong bullpen. Robertson figures to see the bulk of his work in lower leverage innings initially, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him earn some work in key spots if he's able to pitch well during his first few outings.

Robertson signed a major-league contract with the Rays on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robertson has a long and excellent track record, saving 137 games at the highest level while producing a 2.90 ERA in 663.2 innings of work. He's now 36 years old and has made just seven MLB appearances since the start of the 2019 season, however, missing almost the entirety of his two years in the Phillies' organization due to Tommy John surgery. He failed to find a deal with a big-league club over the winter and wound up making just two appearances in the Atlantic League and three more for Team USA in Tokyo during the Summer Olympics, where he recorded a pair of saves despite allowing two runs in three innings. He'll go to Triple-A Durham for now but should be in the big-league bullpen before too long, though the fact that he went unsigned until mid-August seemingly indicates that a high-leverage role down the stretch is unlikely.

Robertson (elbow) will have a throwing showcase for scouts next Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old covered 6.2 innings for the Phillies during 2019 and required Tommy John surgery in August of that year, leading to the team declining his $12 million club option for 2021 earlier this offseason. Robertson last saw extensive action in 2018 with the Yankees an delivered a 3.23 EAR, 1.03 WHIP and 91:26 K:BB over 69.2 innings while recording five saves and 21 holds. Assuming all goes well in the showcase, he shouldn't have a problem securing at least a minor-league deal somewhere for the upcoming campaign.

Robertson (elbow) threw a bullpen Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robertson was shut down at the end of August after a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and his team option was declined by the Phillies after the end of the 2020 season. The right-hander's bullpen session was his first of the offseason, although he's planning a showcase for teams in early February. Robertson underwent his procedure in August of 2019 and could return to game action early in the 2021 campaign if he's able to find a roster spot during the offseason.

Robertson (elbow) became a free agent after the Phillies declined his team option Friday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rather than pay the veteran $12 million for his services next season, the Phillies will pay him a $2 million buyout to get his contract off the books. The 35-year-old righty will wind up making $184,000 per pitch over the course of his contract with the Phillies, as he landed on the injured list after throwing just 6.2 innings in 2019 and wound up requiring Tommy John surgery. He underwent the procedure late enough into that year that he was unable to return at any point in 2020. Injury and age risk will certainly suppress Robertson's market this winter, though there should still be plenty of interest in a pitcher with a career 2.90 ERA and 137 saves.

Robertson (elbow) won't throw for another six weeks and will miss the remainder of the 2020 season, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Robertson recently faced a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery that forced him to be shut down. It's unclear if he'll be ready for spring training in 2021.

Robertson (elbow) suffered a setback and has been shut down from throwing, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old appeared to be nearing the end of his recovery from Tommy John surgery as he advanced to throwing live batting practice earlier this month, but it's now possible he's unable to return this season. Robertson is scheduled to meet with the team in the near future to determine the next course of action.
