Peterson (5-2) took the loss Tuesday in Atlanta, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out nine in 5.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson cruised through the first five innings, holding Atlanta scoreless and allowing just a hit and two walks. After striking out Ronald Acuna to begin the sixth he issued a walk and gave up a two-run homer to Matt Olson and was removed from the game. Over his last two starts, the lefty has fanned 16 and walked eight in nine innings of work. If he starts again before the All-Star break it would be Sunday against the Cubs.

Peterson didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-3 extra-inning win over the Reds, giving up three runs on four hits and five walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
The strikeouts helped salvage some fantasy value for the southpaw, but Peterson struggled to find the plate consistently, tossing only 51 of 93 pitches for strikes. He was on the hook for his second loss of the year until the Mets rallied in the ninth inning. New York will get Chris Bassitt (COVID-19) back this weekend, but Trevor Williams is the more likely pitcher to get bumped from the rotation despite this poor outing from Peterson, who still sports a 3.48 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 67:27 K:BB through 62 big-league innings this season.

The Mets reinstated Peterson (personal) from the paternity list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Reds in Cincinnati, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson was away from the team for the maximum three days while observing the birth of his child, but he hadn't been in line to start in any of the Mets' games during that stretch anyway. He'll return to the mound on his normal four days' rest after he delivered one of the best starts of his career last Friday, when he struck out a season-high 10 batters while giving up three earned runs across six innings in a win over the Rangers.

Peterson (paternity) will start Wednesday against the Reds, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson left the team following the birth of his child, but he will not wind up missing a turn through the rotation. He will look to pick up where he left off after posting a 2.45 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 25:2 K:BB in 18.1 innings over his last three starts.

Peterson will be placed on the paternity list Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson started Friday's game against the Rangers and allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out 10 in six innings to earn the win. The southpaw left the team Saturday, but the Mets will wait at least one additional day to officially make a transaction since players can spend a maximum of three days on the paternity list.

Peterson will start Friday against the Rangers after Chris Bassitt was placed on the injured list without a designation, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While it's short notice for Peterson, he will be on normal rest, having last pitched June 26. He went seven innings and fanned a season-high eight batters in his last outing and now has a 3.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB over his last five appearances (22.2 innings). The lefty will be matched up opposite Glenn Otto in Friday's contest.

Peterson allowed two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out eight in seven innings during Sunday's loss to the Marlins. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson posted his second quality start of the season while striking out a season-high eight batters during Sunday's matchup, but he was unable to pick up the win during the low-scoring game. The southpaw has made seven appearances (six starts) since rejoining the major-league roster and has posted a 3.78 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 33.1 innings during that time. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Rangers on Saturday.

Peterson allowed six hits and two walks over 5.1 scoreless innings Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson faced several brief threats from the Marlins but still managed to turn in his first shutout performance since April 17 against Arizona. Since re-joining the big-league roster May 23, the 26-year-old is 3-1 with a 4.10 ERA through 26.1 frames. He lowered his season ERA to 3.18 with a 42:22 K:BB across 10 MLB appearances. Peterson is projected to face Houston at home next week.

Peterson (3-1) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four-plus innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson got through four innings in relatively good shape, but he didn't have anything left in the fifth as the Brewers built up a seven-run rally. He was only responsible for the first of those runs, limiting the damage on his line as reliever Jake Reed struggled the most. Peterson now has a 3.60 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 35:20 K:BB across 40 innings in nine appearances (seven starts). The 26-year-old still has a tenuous grasp on a spot in the rotation, though he should get another turn in the rotation at home versus the Marlins next week. He's the most likely candidate to move to the bullpen once Max Scherzer (oblique) is ready to return.

Peterson is listed as the Mets' scheduled starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Brewers in New York.
EDGE Analysis
Peterson's role became uncertain last week following Tylor Megill's (biceps) return from the 10-day injured list, which meant that either Peterson or Trevor Williams would lose out on a rotation spot. Both Peterson and Williams appeared out of the bullpen in the weekend series with the Angels while the Mets temporarily got by with a four-man rotation, but Peterson looks like he'll end up sticking as the No. 5 starter over Williams, who isn't included on the team's upcoming pitching schedule. Through his eight appearances (six starts) with the big club this season covering 36 frames, Peterson has generated a 3.00 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 32:18 K:BB.
